lol I was kidding too, I don't think anyone here (well, some might) would drive to a meet and pop the hood to show off their ignition coils...... Maybe a turbo kit but coils probably not.

Any more info on this? This seems very strange for the results. Was the car simply flooded, or was it flooded and carbon build up? If you had extreme carbon build up I highly doubt your engine would be properly running now.

They arc like crazy It's better to keep the terminals as far away from a ground as possible....hence the easy fix by turning them over

Ok, I'm getting my MSD coil plugs today so while I do that I'll take them out and flip the coils. I think I'm going to paint that bracket too, very rusty, will take updated pictures and post them.

It idles WAY better with the new plugs and coils, seems a little bit more responsive too which is good. We'll see if I notice better fuel mileage.
Hey TJay I just bought OEM coils ngk plugs and ngk wires,,,

they suck my cars idle is low and poor the car dies as soon as i let off the gas pedal and floods, runs very rich, i have de-catted the exhaust via a 3"header back fully welded exhaust, upgraded the cooling system dosen't run hotter that 78*c

and now Im planning on up-grading my coils to Ls,,

I can get the coils no problem and fabbing

so what do I type in to look up the Pig tails/ Wires for the LS coils ?

If you didn't see the other LS2 coil thread on this very page then you should probably place an order with BHR

right,,,, sooooo might not have mentioned this before I've never been on a forum before, I managed to fully rebuild and port the 2.3Lmzr in my old Mazda6gt then traded it for a rusty 95 240sx rebuilt the ka24de and put on an sr20 gt28 with ss ebay headers got it tuned and sold that for $5700CDN, now I'm working on this '04 6speed I got it for $2700CAD I slapped in new coils (OEM), wires and plugs $410CDN right,

then it started over heating to I figured if I want to stay around the 9,500rpm range for extended periods of time I'd beef it all up, $500 spent (rad200, fans200, stat80, cap20) she doesn't over heat any more lol. I just fabbed up a 3" stainless Steel exhaust using my arc welder and car hoist in my garage, fully welded only flange is to the header,

I moved my battery to my trunk using 23ft of 2ga. welder cable and brass terminals. I installed a $20 Apexi turbo timer (into my oz sensor as well) I don't trust the a/f reading but it looks cool

I've been filling her with 93 or 94 and lucas 2-stroke about 10oz to a full tank
oil level is always checked and topped,

but can't wrap my head around why it's so finicky,, like **** I feel like I'm dating an Italian girl again :O

I ordered the ignition coils new AcDelco 12573190 (4) and the pigtails, and am probably going to to a compression test tomorrow to see if I have a blown seal :S

Im no noob lol just would like some constructive input rather than sarcastic posts, would be nice, JS. aslo I get very few hours of sleep between school, working on the 8 and bouncing. so please be patient

This is a topic that is completely covered in multiple places in the forum. To try and keep the clutter down please search around a bit.....and if you have specific questions come back for an answer.

There is nothing difficult to do...but if you aren't good with a crimper and keeping track of wires....might be better to get a pre-made harness

I'm with you on this one extreme carbon build up? Chunk of carbon lodged in a seal making 0 compression and the mechanic maniged to dislodge it? If it looks like a duck sounds like a duck and walks like a duck ......... It's got to be a duck. Sounds realy fishy hope you didn't pay him much to dislodge that massive chunk of apex seal killing carbon.

sooo got the ignition coils wired up (lol 3hrs) and put in place, and still no change in the hot starting issue or cold starting issue or general putting (misfiring sound),,, so I hooked up my compression gauge without the valve and checked rotor 1 and rotor 2 and rotor 1 would pulse twice and rotor 2 pulsed 3 times so I guess I'm sol

Did you tie into the front or rear sensor and what wire did you tap into? I need to get AFR on my Arc MFD

I tied into the primary O2 sensor because I didn't want the rating off the cat,,,, also bottom line go a wide band O2 sensor because the OEM one isn't as accurate,

I've got a LC!, but I want to tie an aditional display I have into the stock sensor for comparison.
