GReddy's new toy... not the turbo kit

Guys (especially MazdaManiac);

GReddy has a new stand alone system thats replacing the e-Manage of the turbo kit. It's called the e-Manage Ultimate. Here's a quick press release (if it means anything to you):

Some of the new features include:

The ability to both Add and Subtract on fuel and ignition maps A toggle switch to shift between two sets of tuning maps (i.e. Street program or Race program) Air/Fuel Target Map for self-tuning to speeding up initial tuning time Increased number of input and output ports and numberous built in adapters Various Correction Maps (for Acceleration, Speed, Temperature, Ignition, & A/T Trans) Fouled Spark-Plug Cleaning Feature Auxiliary Output Maps A new extensive multi-channel datalogging system with map tracing for easy tuning Includes the software Support Tool CD Use of a speedy standard USB cable for tuning, monitoring, and datalogging Ideal for optimizing and fine-tuning for performance products like exhaust, air intake, intercoolers, boost controllers and turbo upgrades, the e-Manage Ultimate and do it better than any other system on the market today.

I am wondering if the harness in our kits are compatible to the new unit's... that is if there is a benefit for us.

So...it's a stand alone computer and not a piggyback, and it's also going to replace the current emanage in their turbo kits...that's official now?

just did a quickl search on google and found it is for sale...looks just like a piggy back just liek teh old emanage...cool but when i checked out the pics they have on tuning...it looks like it only does it in 500 rpm incriments.....but i dunno if you can change that i also have no idea about tuning..so i dunno what kinda resolution you would want (i woudl imagine the higher the better......). what do you guys think? i know the old emange had maps at what 16x16 or 32x32..i forget. oh well no need for me to be a ginnie pig..i don't have FI :p...hehe

I would seriously doubt that it replaces the "standard" Emanage on the turbo kits...at least not without a substantial $ increase. Most standalones go for about 2X-3X the price of a piggyback unit.

It's a piggyback system (not stand alone). I also do not believe they'll use these for their turbo kits, where'd you see that info?

I'm not too familiar with the Gold eManage....

just how 'much' better is this new emanage? Does it have a higher resolution map? I see the target AF ratio map as well is new... but I'm not so sure how useful that's going to be since I was planning on using the stock WB o2 sensor data via canscan.

Oh well... I'll wait till one of ya'll picks one up and plays with it

It is not a stand alone, it is still a piggyback computer however they have incorporated all the very cool features of a stand alone. They have not decided as of yet to wether or not they will replace the turbo kit ecu's with the new ones. They now offer full control over almost any size injectors you want to use, instead of just tapping into the injector wiring they now cut the wire and send the signal directly to the injectors. The ignition timing control will no longer have any chance of blowing coils because it is now controlled by adjusting the trigger sensors input. It also incorporates a wideband o2 sensor input for datalogging and target air/fuel map. They upgraded to a USB to USB connection port for faster datalogging. The biggest improvement I think in this new unit is the ability to eliminate the MAF sensor on just about any car and use the greddy pressure sensor instead. You can now adjust cylinder trims ... or in this case rotor housing trims (add or subtract timing and fuel per rotor housing). For those automatic cars it offers the ability to control shift points. They now have coolant temp correction map as well as air temp correction map. You now have control over the rev limit and speed cut limit of the vehicles. Also monitors knock sensor and datalogs it as well as a fouled spark plug feature which allows you to shut the injectors off while cranking with the pedal at 100% throttle to clean the fuel out. Now has a dipswitch which allows the user to cycle between 2 maps for ex. one map for street/pump gas and another for race gas. Or if you have water injection or something you could have one map for that and one for without it daily driving. And a few other features that I'm sure I forgot at the moment.

If anyone has any other questions about it just let me know I'll do my best to answer any question about it.

If we already have the Greddy kit with the previous gen emanage would this provide enough benefit to make it worth the cost?

I would say yes because it offer many advantages that could help with tuning and drivability. And you could have better control over timing and fuel as well as air/fuel target map.

Crazy! That's going to screw up the OEM PCM synchronisation completely. Everything that is phased in the PCM strategy (like injection phasing, knock detetction windows,...) will be offset too!

You can use the e-shaft position sensor as a trigger rather than change its phase.

Just wondering if, since it is a piggy back, the stock computer will relearn and adjust back to stock like what happens with the standard e-manage? I am looking into some sort of engine management, especially since seeing xyntax's results with his cz unit (188HP on a mustang dyno), but don't want to spend the cash for a full standalone like the interceptor if I don't have to. Not that the interceptor is a bad unit, I am just limited on funds for now.

Yeah I am wondering this also. I dont follow this forum as much as I would like to, but I am waiting to get a PCM upgrade until I hear that this is no longer an issue.

It seems with as powerful as our computers our, its a shame we have to buy another computer to trick it.

If only we could hack the damn thing.
