Is the greddy turbo kit worth it?

i am really thinking about getting the greddy turbo kit for my car, and i can c it runs about $3200 for the kit and i was wondering if its really worth it. It only has like 6psi, is there ways to get it more with not to heavy of modding. If so like what, im kinda new with all this turbo stiff, i want to go faster.

MM Greddy upgrade. You'll spend 5k but its one of the best turbos out there.

$3510.00 is the magic number. if you can get the greddy kit for less than that then do it.

if not, just get the MM/BHR kit that is basically the greddy kit with the MM upgrade and the accessport as the management.

but like i said, if its below the majic number you can get the kit and upgrade it for cheeper

The Greddy kit by itself is just not worth it at any price. The MM/BHR upgrade/complete kit is just so much of a better solution. It fixes the shortcomings of the standard kit. I really have to ask, if you are cutting corners on a turbo kit, then you might as well start saving for a new engine. Better to spend some more money up front, than a lot more money on the back end.

You should talk to the guy with the unlimited budget and see if he wants to hook you up!

There are people here boosting higher than 6PSI with the GReddy. Just use a boost controller.

it's made for 6 psi and it will do that to redline.

you can increase the boost, and that will give you gains, but at around 7200 rpm, the engine demands more air and the psi will drop back down to 6.

the greddy also generates more heat than if you had a higher flow turbo like MM's.

the biggest drawback to the stock greddy kit is the turbo itself. journal bearings on the turbo seems to give out and die after 12k miles or so, with or without an oil restrictor.

My kit had a faulty wastegate spring that would not let me boost over 6.5 psi, and fyi, my turbo who went from 185 whp to almost 250 whp, not 80+.
