Ganador Vertex Titan

I cannot read Japanese, but I wanted to create a spin-off thread relating Ganador's titanium exhaust for the RX-8. What do you guys think of it? It costs about $2000 U.S. I have no idea how much it weighs, let alone the power and torque figures. From the looks of it, this exhaust is one gorgeous piece, though I am sure someone here in the United States could fabricate a better one for less. Here's a link.

Stock exhaust is 17.8kg and the Ganador Vertex Titan GD-750 is 8.5kg. There was a post I made a while back in an RB thread with the weights of various JDM mufflers.

RMagic claims that their muffler gives 14.5ps increase. FEED says that theirs gives about 10ps. Ganador SUS GD-545 is rated at about 6ps and 1.0kg-m.

It doesn't look very straight back considering the exhaust flows into the side of the muffler.

Personally, I am going to wait until I get a turbo in this car. Right now, there is no point in me spending hundreds, or posibly throusands of dollars for an exhaust, just to take it off in the future.

Sorry, but there is no way in hell any of those exhausts are giving you double-digit horsepower gains on their own. I'm just not buying that.

I'm with you jds. I don't buy it either... I just posted the "official" numbers from their ads and articles. To be honest I don't like Rmagic. The owner I found to be bordering on rude and not helpful at all. Their cat-back with the Ti tips looks like crap in the pic and I bet in a few years it'll look worse... the Ti tips are riveted onto the SS pipes.... tacky!

If you're after pure bang for the buck... buy Borla or RB and the SR motorsports cat/ CZ cat. That's some bang for the buck. Me... I hate to part with the extra dough, but I like being unique... so my cat-back would be JDM... not because it's better, but because it's different. My high flow cat would definitely be JDM. Too many concerns with an increase in volume with the domestic products. The JDM ones claim only a 3db increase. Maybe that also means they don't flow as well... who knows.

BTW... Borla, Ganador, Fujitsubo, Knight Sports, and Odula all enter through the side/ have a few extra bends. I very much doubt it is making any significant differnce in power. If you care that much about a straight pipe system, pay 160,000 JPY for the single exit Ti cat-back by Runduce.

Check out another titanium exhuast from Amuse, it is lighter than Ganador (lightest twin exhaust for RX8). Not sure about it's potential gain. But titanium exhaust are way too expensive, and I heard they are even louder than stainless steel exhausts.

38 to 18 lbs on the Amuse exhaust. That's great. Not sure if it's a couple grand great, but shaving off those extra pounds is always worth the thought.
