Finally Straight Pipes!

Thanks rotary hunter, I'm headed to the muffler shop now. I'm gunna keep the oem muffle just in case. And mine is costing me $120 for parts and labor, it is a good deal so I couldn't pass it up. I'll let you all know my first impressions and if I can figure it out do a sound or video clip.

Well, I know it's hard to get the noise of a rotary on a cheap camcorder, as the high frequencies use all the bandwidth and you loose the low notes, but that video is so bad it's like being back in the '70s.
The 90* bend with nothing to expand into doesn't exactly look brilliant either...

And rotary hunter they sound amazing. I thought they would be super loud, giving me head aches, but it's almost exactly what I wanted. Even has the back fire which alot of people dont like, but I love it. Next step is a t3 t4 turbo, going for a 300+ hp auto!!!!

Waking up is going to be hard...

I think it's possible, I know a lot of people are going to disagree, but I'll get it there. It's already at 230 hp the turbo and a few more mods will hopefully get me there. I'll post everything I do with pics and you can follow my build. I'm set to prove all the nonbelievers wrong!

Usually when someone posts a modification that doesn't really do it for me, I just kind of shrug and say "to each their own"... But straight pipes are truly noise pollution, and so inconsiderate. People have the right to enjoy their day without the disruption of an obnoxiously loud car. Add to the fact that it's pointless, as it sounds worse than pretty much any other solution, and the power gain is negligible (if any at all.)

Adding straight pipes does add hp?! You can add an intake which adds a few horse! BG induction cleans out all valves and your engine will love you. Take care of your car and you will see.... And also there are 8s with exhaust systems in my town an they sound horrible, straight pipes sound a lot better. But that is also my opinion.

This thread makes my head hurt. The pics and video look and sound terrible. The already rusted pipes and sloppy welds makes me wonder if the OP's has already broken. The straight pipe T looks even worse. I'd be willing to bet that that T almost negates the the minimum gain in flow of straight pipes.
I find it hard to believe that a difference can be felt. If it is, you're butt dyno must be more accurate than 99% of the population. It's most likely the placebo effect of loud sounding fast, there for sounding fast equals fast.
Sweet8, i can't make sense of most of your posts, so i'll leave it alone.
To each their own comes to mind, but straight are terrible for everyone within earshot.
RX8inSTL: The HKS is raspy with the AP midpipe. It sounds much better with the BHR, RB, or even a gutted factory cat.
