catless exhaust questions

im looking to get the turboxs exhaust and the catless race pipe...dumb question but what really are cats? i just know its illegal not to have them and it makes the exhaust louder and smell. so other than that whats the difference between having cats and not having cats?

couldnt find this on search, guess no ones dumb enough to ask this but me..

That information is readily available here as well but yes you'll free up a couple horses with a catless midpipe. It's not going to be anything crazy though, maybe 5-10 depending on the condition of your cat.

what about the O2 sensors, do our cars have problems with that? i was reading that you need to get some plugin thing to trick the sensor, but it was for a different car

Well I guess we tried to break it to you easy for the first couple questions... but seriously man search the damn forums.

Here's how... GO TO GOOGLE. TYPE IN A QUESTION LIKE THIS:

site:rx8club.com QUESTION GOES HERE.

Then it'll only display stuff from rx8club. Everything you're asking could have been answered with a 30 second date with Google...

people "hate on you" because you fail to perform basic research skills. Don't be lazy!
Seriously, starting a thread asking how a cat works?? Asking if you'll get any gains? The former can be found on any site. Even youtube videos. The latter gets asked a **** ton around here. Just reading the stickies in the tech garage would have revealed the answer.

There is nothing personal. People are tired of answering the same old questions all the time. Or a new question that can be answered if the poster had done a little research.
In this day and age EVERYTHING is available on the internet if you want to take the time to search for it.
That's the problem with today's entitlement society. Everybody want's something for nothing. Put some effort into it. Quit holding your hand out saying gimme. And not doing a damn thing for yourself.
Like I said nothing personal Crazy 8. I'm speaking on a general overall view of things and conditions.
