Just got my Racing Beat installed today.

Get Racing Beat. You will not regret it.

After install if you want loud, then get the SR mid pipe after you have the Racing Beat exaust.

I know everryone on this forum is all for racing beat and im not knocking it at all but what do you guyz like about the greddy.......ive watched both soundclips from mazdatrix.com over 100 times and am so stuck in the middle but i think it comes down to having the better name brand since the sound is so similar....id rather say i have a ''Greddy" exhuast then a racing beat ya know???? any thing you guys have against the greddy...which one will sound more ''rotary'' sounding???????? i dont want rice ....i think the car will lose its whole look if i put a loud overbearing ricey exhaust on it.

Since you are obviously more into known name brands, get the Greddy.

But, frankly, RacngBeat has been in the rotary business for awhile. They have a great reputation because they earned it. They spent alot of time developing their RX-8 cat back to create a sound that is respectful for the RX-8. They care about it because their reputation depends on it.

Having heard both the Greddy and the RB in person, I can't really suggest one over the other. The Greddy is louder, but I don't think it is overly loud.

Whatever the case may be, if I get a cat back, it will be an RB.

Billy,

It's all personal preference. I have heard both exhausts in person. When I was looking for a cat back. I wanted almost stock until about 4K RPM, as I really don't want to get hassled by the Po-Po. But I also wanted it to sound very aggressive after 4K rpm. To me the Racing Beat was that option. It came down to Borla & RB. The Greddy sounded pretty good, but just a little too loud for me. Also, I did not like the appearance of the tips. To me they are too big, and I didn't like the rolled lip at the end. The Mazda Speed tips were too small compared to the Borla & RB units (Both just perfect looking). In terms of sounding like a rotary, I got many compliments on my exhaust at the RB open house last Sunday from people that had RX7's & RX8's. They all said it has certain rotary charateristics. There is an interesting pop sound when you rev up. Many of the RX7 drivers said that is on their cars.

I've got the B&B and love it. Don't think it sounds ricey at all. As far as the noise is concerned, I must have been driving some very loud cars in the past, because I feel that its not really that loud at all (at least from inside the car). I'm currently looking into adding a midpipe either with only a hi-flo, or only a resonator.
