Engine/Cabin Air Filters

It seems that K&N filters are favored by most of the RX-8 Club members but I am having trouble finding a supplier. I would also like to order a new cabin air filter. Any leads would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of K&N making a cabin air filter... far as I know only Mazda makes one. You can also make your own - check the DIY forum for details.

As for engine air filters, are you talking drop-in filter element replacements or the K&N "Typhoon" intake system? If the latter, I don't know that I'd agree with you that they are "favored by most" of our members. The Typhoon system is fairly common because they are "relatively" inexpensive and because they are one of the very few aftermarket intakes available. But the Typhoon is far from the best IMHO. Many people who have them have had idle and other problems.

There are also intakes made by Rotary Extreme and S&R. I'd recommend either of these before the current K&N Typhoon. I had the RE one at one point and it was really good.

You can buy almost any of these via our forum vendors. Search the Aftermarket & Performance forum for more info on any one of the intakes too.

Hope this helps.

there is a specialized cabin filter for the RX-8 that no other car or home air system has yet...

the Aldehyde filter...in fact it is the only filter system that successfully removes smoke and odors in edition to dust and alergens (stock cabin filter will not remove alergens though...Hepa would but restricts airflow too much)--it is amazing and I know since my girlfriend is alergic to everything (except me )

I'll link you to the DIY install it is SOOO easy , here you go:
