What's the micron rating on it? Filters with fiberglass filter media don't have symmetrical holes for when the fluid passes through. The asymmetry makes for a better filter. Also, you can't pleat the stainless steel in order to increase surface area like paper and fiberglass media.

Stainless steel filters are used for hydraulics as a tank filter BUT the inline filter with glass media somewhere along the way does most of the hardcore filtering.

Not for me Dan!!
Do some reading on the stainless filter--it is interesting. Lot of racing guys use them
lot of dirt bike riders and performance bikes use them and they have tighter tolerances than we do,

I've been over there literature...nowhere does it give an actual number for minimum filtration size

It says that it "filters better than OEM filters at sub 30 microns"....but that doesn't mean much to me

I have a full flow filter that filters to 8 microns...and last substantially longer than the OEM filter...that I change as OEM..the cartridges cost about the same as a dealer filter.....To me this makes more sense than trying to clean an oil filter? Dunno ?
