I had my mounts installed the other day. I immediately noticed a smooth acceleration and no vibration through the RPM's. I had a rough vibration before when sitting at idle but that is now gone since the installation of the these new mounts. My mechanic liked the mounts as well and said he will be recommending them to all his other 8 owners. He thought they look and feel VERY solid and was impressed. Said they installed very easily and I think dannobre's comments proves that as well. I am very impressed by these mounts and that they also got rid of the vibrations I had before they were installed!

I would also like to give everyone a heads up...this is the last week to get these mounts at the sale price of $239 shipped using the RX8ClubMM discount code. You can order them at RX8Performance.com

(clears throat) Going back to engine mounts (aka motor mounts), I ordered a pair and got them today; I weighted them and they are 2.73 lbs each.

Does anyone know how heavy the OEM engine mounts are?

825 gm = 1.82 lb

They're worth the extra weight IMO.

Thought I would update this thread since I have had the mounts now installed for over a month. The mounts are holding up great and doing well. I notice smoother engine revs and no vibrations from the engine at higher speeds. It feels like it shifts harder since the engine isnt moving around. I have had the wheels off the car a couple times and the mounts still look good as new. The whole car could burn to the ground and these mounts would be the only thing left intact lol.

Thumbs up

I finally got to drive my car on Sunday with the new mounts as well.

After going from the old Mazsport ones that were basically solid, back to stock mounts, and then to these...I love these new mounts.

They have no noise or vibration problems like the old ones..and they keep the drivetrain planted solid as a rock.

I just ordered a set too, 2007 with 21k on the clock and getting a little rattle when in reverse.
Even the mechanic told me not to waste money on new oem ones.

i have to disagree with the few people saying their is no noise or vibrations. I've had aftermarket mounts in the last 3 cars i've owned including this one and there is ALWAYS more cabin vibration/noise. Main reason i get stronger mounts is better launches and smoother shifting and clutch feel.

Now, onto these mounts, i got them cause my stock ones were going. But these aftermarket mounts ARE awesome, i love them. Very minimal to no vibration in the stick, shifting feels better now that things are held tighter and there is less movement, HOWEVER, there is definitely an increase in cabin vibration, but that is the trade off for stronger engine mounts. Personally i don't mind it, it makes me feel like i'm driving a beast that is waiting to take off. lol! And you really only notice it the most starting from a stop.

Ordered a set Tue morning, recieved them in the mail this morning and had them installed. No more exhaust rattle when in reverse and if there is anymore cabin vibration I can't feel it. A very solid feel again to the car. A great additional aftermarket product for our 8's.
After a couple more spins I must admit I do feel a lil more vibration at times. When I'm idling at a stop light.

A bit of cabin vibration at idle; not bothersome at all.

I have had them now for two track weekends and I was too busy with other things (e.g. turning, braking) that I didn't notice anything in particular... which is a good thing.
