IMO the limiter tabs aren't really necessary once the bushing gets to a certain stiffness. They only come into play on the super squishy OE bushings

I think the limiting tabs are good insurance really...they prevent extreme movements of the engine...and great sources of knock for our stupid inept knock sensor

I suppose I wasn't expecting to see anyone attempt to pull a remake of the movie Bullet in San Francisco using an RX8 ....

more secure mm surprised me in the difference in throttle response and shifting. I didnt think it would be as noticiable as it is.
If anyone has access to track video that shows the shifter--look at it and you will be surprised how much that shifter moves during a track session. Now some movement is ok and actually is good, but on some vids I have seen you can tell its pretty extreme. On a high G load turn such as Road Atlanta turn 1--i have seen a fellow members shifter ( oem MM) move 3-4 inches!
These MMs look maybe to be a tad lighter than the oem ones? IDK for sure.
Look well made.

Interesting no one seems concerned with this being Scott from Mazsport.

yup, that is why it is being monitored...
But we are talking about the product, not the person who builds it.
he can come up with a product, good resources, and if he can prove that he has it, which is showing in the pics, i think we don't have to make it a big deal.
i am sorry about the past, but at this time we all should just focus on the product, instead of the builder...
sometimes, some people will give a second chance to a person, now it's up to the buyers if they will give the second chance the seller or no if you don't wanna deal with it, we don't have to bash it and try to wake up the old things.

sorry not trying to say things, but it seems that most people here try to discuss about the product, not the seller..lets share the loves... loves..

yeah, i wonder about the weight too...but i haven't had the motor mount (the stock) since i had turbo...but it looks cool though..how long is the rubber will last before we need to change it? is the driving wise will be affected?
btw, it will niceeer if it's little cheaper...
steven

not everybody had a bad experience with him, no different than MazdaManiac in that regard

the reality is that if a person provides a unique part or service not readily available elsewhere, then what else can you do but go there for it?

If you feel there is no difference then all the issues you have with MM should be equally directed at Scott right?

Also if MM were to come out with a new product that only he produces then you would discuss only the merits of this product and not bring up the undelivered turbo kits by him?

Not much to say here other than buyer beware. I think we can all agree with that? IMO there is no issue with anyone bringing up concerns with this individual. If he starts ripping people off again then at least people are aware of his past dealings with rx8club.

I will never buy from Scott based not off the fact he had delivery issues of one product, but that he literally took peoples cars, and their money, promised a project, and then disappeared. His so called 'used' products may very well be off from rx8 members vehicles. With MM you are not concerned about profiting at the expense of other car enthusiasts.

He could come up with a reliable unobtanium apex seal or dowel that holds boot to 24psi and allows the car to put down 500 rwhp. I would not buy it.

Rant over.

I wanted to share my feedback about these motor mounts. When my factory mounts started getting soft I switched to a solid type mounts (with a small grommet) and ran those for the last couple of years. They were alright but the thin grommets made the cabin vibration almost unbareable. I made the switch too these about 8 months ago and WOW what a difference. So much smoother than the solid mounts these have a tight feel but without the vibration the others. The bushing are thick and on both sides of the mount not just one side and there made from stainless steel so they wont rust like the old mounts. Great product, looks like it should have come on the car... A+++++

These look really nice. I have not been able to bring myself to buy stuff from him but a good friend has, and I actually have a couple of his pieces sitting in my living room and well, they are stellar products to be honest.

But, this guy did some shady ****, and typically people who are dishonest tend to stay that way. If you take payment for something and don't deliver, then you are a thief in my book. That applies to every business/person. That said, I have had this conversation with a few people and at the end of the day we all have to make our own decisions.

I didn't mention it to beat up anybody as someone will inevitably accuse me of, but there are similarities. Some people will try to sway the comparison between them as the guy who stole some ladies life savings vs a murderer, but in my book a convict is a convict. Some do reform, some are dirty for life. MMs service sucked dirty donkey ***** for years and in some cases this still continues. He treats some customers like dogsh-t, especially if they irk him in any particular way. Why would he ship an international kit that has been delayed for years without informing the buyer or why does he refuse to communicate with the one customer outstanding? Does this not raise some level of suspicion or concern? Yet, his service in some regards eventually did reform after years of complaints, so can we then assess that it is possible for some people to reform? If he can reform, then why not Scott.

The reality is that even sincere, honest people get into trouble and maybe make bad choices trying to avoid the unavoidable, or just make bad choices because they have no business being in business. I have made some poor choices in my life. If you haven't then maybe you have the right to consider yourself better. I certainly don't have any problem holding Scott to a standard, I simply am stating that we should then hold everyone to the same standard sans excuses or any other sentimental BS. A lot of the same bloodbath occurred then as now. At the heart of the matter is whether the person got into a bad situation, simply made irresponsible choice after choice, or whether he/she intentionally set out to rip people off. I'm not sure that some of us can ever really know. The people closest to that person might have a pretty good feel for it. I have heard stories regarding both, but hearsay is hearsay.

Scott filed for bankruptcy and there are legal obligations and forgiveness on many levels, as well as penalties. He cannot actively promote or campaign his business here and as you see by the replies there are people who will likely never do business with him again. It is what it is and he has to live with it. The same applies to MM. Each of them must bear the responsibility for the situation they are personally accountable to. Would Scott have been able to fore-go what occurred if he had an infinite amount of time to work his way out of it and would he have? We will never know. Some people eventually received a kit after many years, but had sold their RX8 and moved on. Does this seem fair or right even though they were eventually made good?

That turbo kit can be built within weeks by any number of companies. He can either meet his obligations or he can't. If 40 months isn't enough, then what makes you think more will suffice? Nobody else ever got that much rope to hang their self with, ever.

good words Team.
Everyone deserves a second chance IF they are making efforts to correct themselves. I have bought several items from Scott --previously and not so long ago. He has always done well by me.
Yep-- he screwed up and he will admit to that if you talk to him. He sounds sincerely sorry about what all happened--it was a crazy time.
I also feel for the guys that lost money, in MM's deals and Scott's deals. Who knows--when they get back on their feet well enough maybe they will try to make amends? I would. But if they are beat down and never given a chance to get themselves out of the messes they got themselves into--they they will never be able to even try.
Listen-- i grew up poor. I do mean poor--like no indoor plumbing poor. All we had was our word and character. But if you have that, no matter how much you knew or how much money you had then you had peoples respect. If you have respect you are going to be ok.
That is what these guys need to start building. It looks like maybe they are trying to do that? I guess time will tell.
