Can someone post a list of the most popular catback exhausts in order from the loudest to the quietest? Thanks in advance!

 

borla, racing beat, Mazdaspeed, Greddy, HKS, TurboXs... in no particular order...

 

I already have a list of the 36 different manufactures of catback systems for RX8's, the order of the most popular ones from loudest to quietest is what I'm looking for.

hks hi-power is one of the loudest.

 

I guess that means you have no idea what I'm asking.

 

That list would be immpossible/inaccurate anyway due to the way you judge "loud"......

One system can be quieter on a db meter, but have a nasty raspy tone and be hard on the ears. One system will be the quietest at idle, another at W.O.T.

Even with a db meter, do you read the "A" scale or the biased curve of the "B" scale?

In short, no, there is no such list......

Don't need to be all scientific about it. All I was asking for was a general list. It's pretty obvious that the TurboXS is louder then the Racing Beat so if someone could fill in just a few inbetween those that would be great.

try doing a search.... stealth is right, its very hard to list them..... so do a search on each exhaust and then make your decision from there.

 

So you're asking if someone has access to at least half a dozen RX-8s with different exhaust systems and can listen to them all under similar conditions and rank them on without a dB meter. Ummm....good luck.

 

I have heard Mazdaspeed, Greddy, RacingBeat and Borla.
RacingBeat is quietest cat back but is still louder and deeper sounding than stock.
Mazdaspeed and Greddy are similar sound level but different sounds.
The Borla didn't sound very loud to me but I didn't hear enough of it.

I recommend heading to a meet and listening to the various systems.

 

turbo xs and b & b are probably the loudest you can get, ms, borla, greddy, helix, corksport and thier type are in the middle, while hks, racing beat an thier kind are almost as quiet as stock in my opinion.....

How does the B & B sound? Horrible? I had it on my SRT and loved it, but heard bad things about it on other cars.

 

I love the way my magnaflow exhaust sounds! Perfect sound and have got nothing but great compliments on how it sounds!!!!!
