My point about the STI and Evo were not that you should buy one for whatever reason. The point was that those cars are fast production cars, yet the owners of them still tune them and make them faster. Automobile companies design vehicles to match a certain price/performance/style. It's almost always compromise.
The 8 COULD be faster, but it would be more expensive, or have a less elegant demenor.. just as the STI and EVOs could be more luxurious, but would be more expensive, or slower.. On the other hand, for enthusiests, what is fast enough???
Of course, some people are not used to compromises.. Or reading.

I am a very high-class person (excluding when I am pissed..LoL) and I enjoy German cars and bought this car solely on its looks and didn't know jack about it. Which was a huge mistake!
The way I see it is that I do not have a fast car and will never have one with a RX-8 badge on the rear, but when I put 19s on and trick it out; I will become the ultimate poser. yay!! Since the auto can never be modded and the Manual can somewhat, it doesn't make any sense to me why Mazda didn't make the 8 with the same engines and put a 5-speed or 6-speed auto in it and charge the price of the 6-spd. Is $1,000 that big of a differance in the decision of someone buying or not buying the car? Gay Gay Gay But there is nothing I can do, except be the ultimate poser baby!

Emailists - I see you're a senior member with 162 posts - so I am disappointed you're unhappy with the RX8 - I'm not intertested in your car as there are three Mazdas in the driveway. Hope you get a reasonable price for it. Enjoy the next car - whatever it is.
86rx7 - I think one problem with some 'fast car' buyers is they actually believe the hype about simple upgrades such as a intake and exhaust. They may add something but never the advertised hype. Mazda in the Renesis engine has in many ways tuned the engine of the second generation RX-7. There will be little to gain with simple off the shelf 'upgrades'. Others think tuning and neon go in the some sentence.

I am over the fact that the auto can't gain anything, but I am mearly discussing the Rotary Engine lineup in general. IMO, these engines are a joke for tuning; if I would have known as much as I do now I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle. Compared to conventional engines, the Rotary engine isn't **** besides the 90lbs less. All the rotary gods are going to flock to this and say I don't know anything, but it is the truth.
The engine is pretty much as high-strung as it can go (maybee the manual can be tuned to a bit higher), but it does not accept mods like a standard V6 or I6. My friend's 350z has gained 30+ HP on an intake & Exhaust---compaired to an rx-8 with maybee 10 if you are lucky! The Rotary is a very poor engine for aftermarket tuning and I am pissed about that, but life is a bitch... so what do ya do? I am 18 and I have this car for a 5 year loan, ****.

So, basically, you decided to troll, because you can't take the time to do research on a car before someone bought it for you. Good. Don't do it again.

Your language was inappropriate to the point that forum members were complaining. Please clean it up in future posts, so I don't have to again.
It is unclear to me if you even own this car. In your first post you say you "have this car for a 5 year loan" and further down you say that your father paid cash. What, did you sign loan paperwork with him? Not likely.
But giving you the benefit of the doubt that you do have the car, then what you are experiencing is called buyer's remorse. Or, in your case since you didn't buy it, perhaps we should call it "owner's" remorse. Regardless, you have 2 options: Sell the car and have your father buy you a Corvette, Mustang, or 350Z if you want to modify it, or a BMW M3 if you just want a nice fast car that is not "such a poser." Option 2 would be to show a little patience and wait for the forced induction kits that will soon be on the market, all of which will yield at least 300 HP - and 300 HP in a 3000 Lb car will blow the doors of your friend's 3500 Lb 350Z.
