Wanted to know if anybody w/ a 04 switched keys. I went to the dealership for a oil change and had to ask (its cool as s**t) as far as keys goes

 

Look in the DIY section, someone tells how to do it yourself.

 

The 2005 key will work in the 2004 the only problem is the price the key is going to run around $150.00 + the cost to program the key to your car .

 

I really dont see a need for a new key. What are you gonna do? Walk around telling people "Hey! Check out my super-trick new key dude!"

....

 

I just programmed it yesterday, it's really cool and yes I was walking around telling everybody: look at my new cool key :-)

By the way, I got it cut at the dealership for free and followed the programming instructions which were very easy

 

2nd that! And I also told people this new key made my car go faster.

 

I hate to break it to you, but VW/Audi has had one just like it for some time now. It's a bit less to drag around in your pocket, but I think I'd spend my $150 on a sway bar, portion of another mod, etc. Just my $.02 having had an A4.

 

it works great, but it's expensive. If you want to save money, dont get it. It's just a key (that's what my girlfriend told me but I got it anyway:-))
