Curiously enough, BlackHaloRacing.com domain is off line and their direct shopify site does not list a radiator:
Products | Black Halo Racing

So I'd say adude wasn't being lazy.

Yeah I'm not familiar with there site but I didn't think I over looked it. I tried all the links on here.

First time on the market for one so I thought it would possibly be dicontinued.

Found the Ron Davis but was under the impression the bhr was a tad bit better for same price?

Even if it's not on the BHR website, wouldn't hurt to Email Charles.... maybe he has one kicking around still if he is no longer offering them. If he says no then I guess we know for sure!

is the mazmart Ron Davis one a dual pass? I clicked the link and the coolant inlet / outlet looks different from a dual pass...

The Ron Davis unit listed on their website is a single pass down-flow radiator.

Doesn't Ron Davis make the rx8performance unit? Or at least they did at some point IIRC. Maybe just the core?

Yes, they did build a dual pass unit for us for a few years actually. Pricing and build lead times became an issue so we opted to go another route. Our pricing is now the same for our dual pass unit as their single pass unit and these are typically here in stock.

Does your dual pass drop in without modification?

Read the other install threads, it depends on your definition of "drop in" but generally speaking no, not from what I have seen here.

Just to clear this up for you Hufflepuff, no the radiator does not need to be modified at all. Depending on your particular underhood modifications there may be slight mods/tweaks (nature of modding cars as you know) but it is a bolt-in unit.

Just installed my CSF ... it protrudes into the intake path, and I'm unable to fit my Revi intake back into place... before I go hack up or bend the stock rad mounts, anyone else have this issue ? is there an adjustment?

If this is just how they fit, hope this helps with people's decision...

2nd picture shows the oe spacer I'm tempted to remove.

Ok. I've been researching for two weeks now. Here is what I found and understand to date.

Ron Davis street version (sold at Mazmart) - single pass, highest fin count, OEM fitting, 1.125" core

Ron Davis racing versions (Mazmart can order it) - dual pass, 54mm thick, need mod to fan & condenser

CSF street radiator (?) - single pass, need mod to find MS air intake, RB revi duct

Koyo 36mm radiator (RB) - single pass, 1.4375" core
Koyo 48mm radiator (RB) -
Koyo 54mm radiator (RB) -

LEG radiator - TBA
R-magic radiator - TBA
Re-amemiya radiator - TBA
Knightsport radiator - TBA

Any data specifically related to the Ron Davis street rad and Koyo 36mm?

I know quite a few people with this rad and they have had no fitment issues at all. But non of them have the RB intake either and it was designed to work with the factory radiator and not a larger aftermarket radiator so you can't really blame RB.

But lowering the lower brackets a tad would be easy.

Data will vary but I know a few track guys that run the standard Mazmart and the larger "race" one and I have never heard a bad thing. I don't think koyo is in the same class but they have gotten better over the years based on what I have seen. In the past most saw no results on track or otherwise and fitment was also an issue. But that was years ago. The S2 Koyo should be an improvement and most results from that have been positive.

The JDM ones are likely not worth the cost unless you get them cheaper in Canada.

Thanks for the input. For my setup, I can't 'cut' the intake box as its cf and really don't want to spend the $$$ on a new fan setup as I have the re-amemiya fan switch hooked up. My setup is n/a so, the heat from an induction setup is no issue.

So I think here are my options.

Ron Davis Street Version - single pass, dual layer tube, 2.7L capacity
Koyo 48mm - single pass, dual layer tube, ?
Trust/GReddy 40mm - single pass, dual layer tube design & 3 layer capacity, 2x water capacity of OEM,

Question. I have read through this thread, but could not find if S2 Koyo 48mm could be retrofitted into S1...meaning if the holes and brackets all line up.

Any info would be helpful. Thank you.

The S2 radiator will fit fine in terms of the brackets and radiator lines, I am not sure how the S1 fans would fit on the S2 rad but I would bet it's not off at much if at all.

Thread revival!

Just figured I'd share my experience with the aluminum csf radiator. I bought it off of amazon for $255. Packing was exceptional! No dented fins or tabs. Fitment was great. Went right into place no problem. The only thing was the battery tray was a bit snug fitting but still made it work.
Overall I'm happy with this purchase!

Another CSF radiator report:

My experience exactly mirror's atwood_101.

Excellent fit/finish, direct swap with no issues. this is probably the thickest radiator you can fit without modifying the airbox and/or battery trays.
