I just noticed that Speed Racer sent over his movie file. It's a .mov file so make sure you have 'quicktime' to view it. I'm currently uploading it to a location all can see, stay tuned I will post the link in about 5 minutes.

Cheers,

BTW... Sorry - my other love is V8's! These babies put out 620HP from a 5 litre mill.
And I think I like the sound of the exhaust. But I promised not to do mods on my '8

Does EVERYONE think the flames thing is cool, or is anyone besides me a bit concerned about it? I mean, it is kinda cool, just not sure if I like the idea of driving around a flame thrower. Also kinda worried about burning the flames buring the back of my car. Should the car really be doing this? Does anyone have any ideas on how to mitigate the flames, short of putting the stock exhaust back on?
And BTW, I have yet to see flames from my Borla...

The reciepe to flames is:

Warm up engine
Get the exhaust red hot by running the car over 6k RPMs for several minutes
Come to a stop or at least keep it under 60 MPH (slower = bigger flames)
Rev it hard (WOT) and lift off on the throttle quickly
INSTANT FLAMES!!!
As you can see, it is not easy to get flames because the conditions have to be perfect to ignite the unburnt fuel. Likewise I have not seen any damage to the paint or body work on the car but your mileage may vary. :p
If Mazda ever corrects the pig rich fuel map the flames will probably go away for good.

Today I had a guy who pulled in a little too close behind me. So I decided to see what kind of reaction I would get if I started to shoot flames back at him. Let's just say that he didn't waste anytime putting it in reverse and backing up a few feet!

Install the latest version for Quicktime (available at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/), then download the file. Finally, change the file extension of this movie file (currently .mov) to .QT
