Looks like they broke a bolt and didn't tell you about it (and probably other issues they had).

Well, usually the best jobs I usually do when I am drunk too. I don't have very good background on car engines but I believe if I had a few shots of whiskey I would have done better job. At least I would have used the nylon spacers and wouldn't have broken the bolt.

However, after finishing I would have thought that those codes were caused by something I did wrong.

However, when I switch off, at the next engine start, they will always come within 10-25 seconds. What troubles my mind is the pattern at which it happens. This means that during my driving, it collects data that are not important at that time to trigger a CEL but at the next start or even before the engine starts, the ECU must be using those info within the 1st minute of startup and at that time it will trigger the CEL. Afterwards, those data must not be significant since it will not trigger it again, even if I erase the codes.
There are many diagnostics which execute only at key-on. A good example (not specific to RX-8) is electronic throttle - most OEMs will implement a key-on diagnostic to test that the throttle can execute through full range of stepping. Generally these are diagnostics which cannot effectively run during normal operation, as they will affect the behavior of the car. My guess is that you are tripping an OEM specific, non-standard code for a key-on test and your OBD-II scanner is not reading the code properly.

Correct!
So much for Systems Engineers!

I'm with Ray....check the CAT. This is tough cause you are JDM and that's why I backed out of this thread early on.
Well, that and sticking my tail between my legs and cowering away after getting chastised by Ray(in a non-descript sort of way).
FYI...........I did know he was JDM from the get go.
