Didnt even notice the sig, thanks
but how does the battery being grounded improve gas mileage?
less load on the coils but that would be insignificant in the big scheme of things wouldnt it?

you ask a question, for which people patiently (some more than others) give you advice. Then you question the advice you're given. If you were my child, I'd spank the **** outta you

Just because you get advice does not mean it is good advice. The company that makes them does not claim it increases fuel efficiency but rather protects electric components. Im not doubting the advice just wondering how much impact it has
On the line of children, my parents gave me a lot of advice and some of my best memories are from the nights I didnt listen to their advice

Sorry,

The $100 thread is in my signature block. It is stuff to do, especially for an older 8, with the first $100 you spend. Grounding is like #8 on the list.

A star washers is just that, it looks like a multi-pointed star. It is designed to keep a nut from backing out, by gripping it with the points of the star. Those points are also great for scratching through the paint on the grounding points and bonding it better with the ground wires. Do not ask me what I think of foolish car companies that paint the frigging grounding points.

If grounds are not good, especially when there at a lot of them, all the bad electrical voodoo crap happens. Usually it is related to noise being where it is not supposed to be. If you ground it all, the noise is hopefully reduced and the electronics can figure out what is going on.

By the way, "electrical voodoo crap" is a technical term. I am an electrical engineer. The number of computer systems I have fixed, simply by worrying about good grounds, is significant.

The bennies would be the improved acceleration and and braking rather then MAYBE a side benefit of 1 or 2 mpg in fuel economy. (it's part of what I want to do!!)
