Here's the thing... Fast is a relative term. As to the comment about the RX8 not being able to compete against an EVO or STI. You are wrong.

...Relatively of course

The RX8 is classed in STU in SCCA Solo2 competition (dependant on mods) and it runs against Both the EVO and the STI. In the right hands it can beat them.

Now as far as drag racing... You should've bought an SRT4 Neon. It's damn "fast" in a straight line and cheap enough to allow you to have extra cash for when things start breaking from drag racing it.

My list of mods in order of importance on the RX8 are as follows:
As much seat time as you can afford. :D
Front Sway bar (I prefer Tanabe's bar)
New Tires
Air Pressure meter (Longacre makes a great one)

In Japan pt of view, I need Japan8 to cerify the actual figure:

RE Amemiya - ECU + manifold and exhaust = 20ps gain
R Magic - manifold (7ps) and exhaust 14ps = 21ps gain.

I wonder if changing the ex. manifold will make the car very loud. RMagic advertised that it will increase sound (or noise :p) by 3dB

The exhaust systems out don't seem to make much HP gains, and the intakes out don't really do much either. The Canzoomer upgrade supposedly can give up to 25-30 HP increases, but many people say it is a gain across the power band is sort of hard to notice.

If you want REAL gains, wait until some type of FI comes out. Otherwise you might be throwing your money away.
Very well said. For our RX-8 to keep up with a WRX/STI or Evo, you will need FI... Hold off till Mazda Speed puts out there FI/SC end of this year or start 05.

Yes to truely be fast you need FI. I now have 20k miles, by the time my warranty ends, the FI for the 8s will be well tested I hope.

The truth is we all want more power and don't want to wait. But all early adopters have to wait. What makes it worth the wait is we know everyone wants more power, the 350 owners want it, the STI owners are looking for it. It's just natural to want to improve upon whatever you have.
