My opinion; Drop in some bigger injectors, get a Cobb Accessport, and have it dyno-tuned. I think you could crank out a good bit more power. More fuel + More Air = More Power. Anybody see why that wouldn't work? You might want to get a better intake and reduce the exhaust restriction with a high flow cat or a race pipe.
The injectors are not so expensive really. What I just did with mine, but it is turbocharged, is to drop in two 550cc RC injectors in the secondaries, and put the 380cc injectors into both primary ports. My injectors cost about $89 each. You'll need to pull the upper intake to swap them. Not such a big deal I think.
From the factory, on MT model, for each rotor there is one 290cc, and two 380cc injectors. By going with the config I'm talking about, it is about a 20% increase in fuel capacity.

I was reviewing the Cobb AccessPort will this allow manual incremental adjustments to the Air/fuel mixture, or can you only choose from the allotted flashes already pre-made?
Are there any other choices?

Ok I thought about it, I guess you would place the o2 sensors into the new made piping but would the engine automatically make up for the extra outflow? Currently I believe I blew maybe both my o2 sensors due to leaded gas, wasn't my fault (my boss gave me free gas from the raceway). So if I delete the Cats what can I do to save $450+$120 on buying new sensors and maybe gaining more performance or tuning capabilities????

It seems like there's a wide variety of opinions on the benefit of CAI, exhaust and mid-pipe. These range from being seen as beneficial upgrades to being bling.
The MM Cobb AccessPort seems so widely advocated for hp boost that I have one on the way. If nothing else it gives an inexpensive way to check and modify the tune of the engine.
Right now I'd say the CAI and exhaust are lower on my list.

NO more worries guys I'm working on a top secret power adder coming to ebay. I'll go ahead and give you a little insight as to what your looking for. It's called the hydronawzsupergogeterdonethingy. I know I know something with that many vowels has to give 50+ whp but even better than that it gives up the biggest boom/bang for the buck you've ever seen. Basically I'm going to atomize the nawz before it gets into to combustion chamber therfore giving you and extra power stroke. I promise the biggest boom you'll ever get out of your motor.

you did not drop some big injector into a z28..... btw, i would bet the rx8 comp ratio is about the same as the 69 small block chevy..
carb does not = injector. and the 60s cars did not have an ecu. much less a ecu as knowledgeable as ours..
btw,, i cant tell you how many sb chevys i have built..
details are important... hey, but what do i know..
beers :beers:
