Turbo XS if you are going F/I, but for N/A, I would recommend Racing Beat.

So does that mean you want to sell me your Racing Beat ? Since Turbo XS would be such an excellent application for a turbo charged 8.

B&B with RP Supercat, this makes for a LOUD combo. This clip doesnt do it justice it sounds louder and ricier under load(trying to get a drive by clip).

Racing Beat sounds great. It sounds stock-ish when cold, it really needs 5 minutes of driving to come through. Once it warms up, it has a great deep note. Not raspy at all. When you are coming off high revs, the popping sound is not loud like some exhausts, but definitely noticeable. It's more deep rather than loud: you feel the pop. The "brap" when you get off the gas is much more noticeable, louder and deeper.

I have a feeling that Mazda didn't think that the customers would like the misfire/brapping sounds of the rotary engine, so they probably designed the stock exhaust to filter out those low-frequency sounds. This makes the stock exhaust rather lacking in the deep/rumble department, which, with the rotary, is even worse. I can see the "brap" pissing some people off, if the car had the RB exhaust as stock.

Racing Beat exhaust sounds really nice when you are doing low-speed low-RPM maneuvers, such as driving around a parking lot (and you are blipping the throttle as you are feathering the clutch). When you get on it, it comes alive as well, but it's not that loud. It has a real good note though, the exhaust sings. However, if you are looking for a real nasty "racing" sound when you are up on the revs, you probably want something else.

In the first two weeks of owning the RB exhaust, I was kinda disappointed until I realized that the it needs some warm-up time (that's probably true of some other exhausts too). I got it in the middle of the winter (end of Dec) and thus it would take even longer to warm up when it was 5 degrees outside. So if you are trying to show off the exhaust sound to your friends, be sure to do it with a warmed-up exhaust.

I know that RB sounds kinda cocky when they say that they have come up with the way a rotary engine should sounds, but, daymn, I love how it sounds. It's the "classiest" sounding exhaust in my opinion, because there's little rasp and it's not that loud. The car really should have come stock with that exhaust, and then you would've seen reviewers rave about it in the magazines.

It also looks really nice! (the tips aren't humongous, they are just right)

I compared it to the sound of the Borla and the Borla has some rasp (just some, not much), maybe a tad less deep. The Borla seems a little louder. I remember Borla looking also very nice.

Compared to the Corksport/Mazdaspeed exhaust, and that one has a bunch more raspiness, really a higher tone overall. Definitely louder.

That's about it for the exhausts that I've heard that I remember any particular about.

i just went from the corksport to the borla.... am pleased, but after the corksport the borla almost sounds to quiet...

i am going to give it some time... but i do think a custom is in my future....

Heres a drive by, takes a couple of seconds before I get to the car. And I do actually drive about half a block down the road.
