Yeah, I figure that it's nearing the end of the month, so people are just getting in on the deal while they can.

It was quite good, I must admit. I had me thinking I could do it until I read about the breaking clips(which I know I would do) and someone having to mill the unit down.

Could you give us a heads-up when you have sent the shifter?
Thanks

Don't worry....only the bastard clip breaks, and it doesn't matter really. Mine is broken, I don't know when it broke....but it doesn't rattle at all.

One person in 100 needs to file the reverse lockout tab. You wont be that one.....!

Do they all come pre-greased? If not, what kind of grease do you recommend?

Not anymore. It made to much of a mess putting it in the baggie.
It's not a critical thing on the Mazda anyway since it gets oiled from the box.
Any grease will work just until the oil gets up there. In fact I've had guys just put oil on it without problems.

Awesome thanks. Should I order through the site or just pay there? When would be a good time to schedule as well?

http://www.axialflow.com/index.htm And yes it's still available.

Okay, I went ahead an ordered it. I left you a note in the paypal payment. So if you see an order that's going to La Verne California, it's me. We can set up a time to install when it's convenient for you. Thanks again.

It's a leap year, how wonderful! Feb. 29 and just ordered! Looking forward to the RP experience!

Richard, It did end up showing that it took $271.00 out of my bank account as an FYI. Will the adjustment be made prior to shipment?

Thanks again for taking the time to talk this morning. It is only 845am in Cali. so I hope it wasn't too early.

Ordered Monday arrived Thursday. On the car Thursday night. I did manage to break the small tab, but no big deal. Hot melt glue gun fixed that right up.

Love the shifter. Can't beat that metallic click-click from gear to gear. Now I just need to finish my engine break-in so I can really enjoy the shifter.

Good job RP....keep working that axial compressor. I had an Eaton in my Miata and would love something that doesn't create so much waste heat.

Ordered mine monday and installed it wednesday! I tried to shifter boot yank method and it worked great. No broken tab problems. The whole install took me about 30 minutes, and that was the first time I had taken apart the dash. The shifter feel is incredible, short, sure throws. Thanks RP.

See that Gomez. I just did another one today for a new customer, no broken tabs. I had to do it twice on his car too. Just get the front ones up and the back is just worked out.
I wouldn't argue with the expert, but he is a stubbornbastard. With two b's.

if anyone got one that they have to file down, maybe we could exchange shifters as I need one that's not so filed down...

Hmm. There have been a couple with this problem but I don't think it is 1/16".
There are non longer then what you have if it hasn't been modified. I know they don't get any longer because that is the OD of the raw stock. I can't make them longer except fot a cleanup cut that's as big as it gets.

If you can't adjust your shifting style for this then you have to move the plate. This is done by removing the pins and adjusting the plate to where you want then tighten down. The holes are slotted for this reason. Just be sure they are tight because if they come loose you may get into reverse without pushing down.

EDIT: you are probably right about the 1/16 being too much... I know it will go into the gates 5 & 6 with 1/16, but it probably only needs half that to make it in.

That's what I ment, just that you must remove the dowel pins. Use a visegrip and try not to lose them.

I received my short shifter today. However, the shifter came without the white ring on it. What shall I do, Richard?

Your car is driveable, just be careful you don't accidentally select reverse.

These are Australian/UK part numbers.....it's my experience that MNAO run the same part numbers.

All the best,

Gomez.
