anyone seen the ebay turbo kit for thr rx8?

I was looking around on ebay, and seen this for turbo kits for our cars.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120287896327

Anyone think this could be a good start, then upgrade to a greddy intercooler, bigger turbo and add a tune, or stand alone ecu?

let me here your thoughts!

It's not to say that you can't build a good kit for cheap but you just have to do your research. Look for rebuilt turbos (I had a rebuilt Turbonetics T3 that ran forever with no problems at half the price) and a good manifold and the rest is easy. Also, for the RX-8 you have to have good management.

I got a spare big turbo on the shelf was thinking of having a welder friend over and building a y pipe from the down pipe with one end going into a turbo then plumbing a huge intercooler with a bov that release early so not to run more than 5/7 pounds. shade tree build. I seen a guy that had a bmw with a turbo cut into the trunk and the charge line following the same route as the exhaust back up into the intake maybe not the best for air temps but hell everyone at the meet was excited to see it.

what the actual **** are you talking about? do you know anything about turbo sizing on a renny? enjoy your half *** abortion. rx8s maybe cheap to buy but they are very expensive to mod right.

And a potato for engine management. It's ok to try things, but that's not how most of those things work.

If you really want to get everyone excited at the meet then pour a gallon of E85 all over yourself and strike a match. They'll still be talking about you 20 years from now ...

That's a sick excuse of a joke btw, "please don't be dumb just to impress other people that don't matter" is the point ...

Who cares about turbo sizing when you doing it for noise and dramatic effect not high horse power numbers or to impress shitty friends or forum trolls. Don't pass your opinions as facts something being expensive or cheap is only relative to what you can afford and not the next guy. I said g'day.

K. Just keep in mind 5-7 psi is about what you can run on a Renesis, and the BOV isn't the thing that controls boost. It's the thing that goes psssht, and you can buy an electronic one on ebay and skip the whole turbo thing.

Wastegate controls boost bov releases boost instead of compressor surge. From information gathered the renesis wil run 7 and compensate but thats end of the map.
