Anyone with the RP Supercat w/stock intake/exhaust sound clip?
I searched and only found clips w/aftermarket exhaust. I'm interested in how this super cat sounds w/stock set up.
thanks in advance

I also have this set-up.
Trust me it is not loud at all. It sounds virtually stock.
I do have what appears to be some sort mild resonance at about 5500 RPM. It sounds like the stock muffler making noise. It does it more at start up then when the engine is nice and warm.
It doesn't sound that bad, but it doesn't sound that good either. It could be something unique to my car (I have had my complete exhaust on and off 3 times now so something might not be fitting together perfectly anymore.)
If you are looking for a more agressive sound, you might be dissapointed. If you are looking for something that is basically stock, then you will like it.
BTW, DO NOT ORDER THE UNIT UNTIL Rotary Performance STARTS ADDING THE HANGER ROD TO THE UNIT. They do not have that hanger rod like the BB mid-pipe and it will more than likely rub one of your cross braces without that hanger rod. It is a flaw in their design and they say they are going to fix it.
I had to go to muffler shop afterwards to get them to remove the hanger from the stock exhaust and add it to the RP super cat. But this was after a few days of troubleshooting trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. (When the exhaust is cool, there is plenty of clearance but not when the exhaust is hot.)

I just received the pipe today.
I was told there was no hanger because it is so much lighter than the stock catpipe. I went to Rick's Rotary Performance shop down up in Peteluma this weekend, and he is running the RP supercat and RB exhaust. He has been working on rotaries since I believe 1972, and I asked him if I needed to add a hanger, and he said that he didn't and you don't need to.
I will be taking pictures/installing the pipe today hopefully. Check out my other thread whenever I update it, along with my cardomain page. (www.cardomain.com/id/silverrx8)

But a few of his customers have needed the hanger and I'm not sure why he said you wouldn't. I definitely did.
I think most of his customers have aftermarket exhausts from Greddy or Borla so that might determine whether you need the hanger or not. (The Greddy and Borla are also lighter than the stock muffler)
Anyway don't be surprised if you get a rattle when the thing heats up. (When it is cold, there should be enough clearance.)
RP did say they would start adding the hanger, but maybe that was just lip service.

Im planning on getting the RP supercat. Hardhitter has been having trouble installing it, so i wonder if it was very hard for everyone to install it. Im also going to be running it with everything else stock for now. MR wiggles, did you feel an increase in power? how big was it?
