mikefrombarrie,

First...forgive some of the guys....THEY HATE BS talk...(not that everything you said was wrong or something...don't get me wrong)LOL. Look at my post count and you will see that I've been around here for a while but I still consider myself a newbie in regards to alot of stuff. (Especially mod's)

I suggest you PM Chris Hill or RotaryGOD (not to take from the rest of the guys sinceI think most of you know alot more than I do about the rotary, mod's, or RX8) with your questions. Chris Hill has done some if not all the mods you have spoken about and he saw pretty significant increases in times.

If you

A) Reduce the cars weight
B) Reduce unsprung weight (Flywheel, rims, & pullys)

You should see significant gains, how much, I have no clue but significant non the less. IF, you can run your car to 14.5's then I would predict (my opinion without much mod wisdom) 14.3-2.

If you are running anything other than 14.5's then expect a .2-3 reduction of your time. But, most of these guys know alot more than me in regards to mod's, times, etc.

With that said, the first thing you need to do is take your car to a track and get a baseline 0-60 & 1/4 mile times. Once you have that...you can prove what increase you got from your mods. I know we all would love to know. Why wait till summer...wait, forgive me...I'm in FL so I can play year round....lol

Before I EVER touch my car I will take it to a track and run her through a few 0-60 & 1/4's.

Then I will post the time slip, credit card statement, DNA evidence, blood, urine, hair, fingerprint, retna scan, video of the run, pictures, tire before & after magnified pictures with temp readings.....finally, a picture of me with my 8 & my Bible study teacher just in case.

LOL, this is the type of stuff you need to be ready to provide with any scaned time slip...so they dont' call you out and say (BS)...LOL...

Forgive whom? Nobody flamed...nobody insulted the guy - a few people, myself included are trying to help a new drag racer 'learn' about what it takes to achieve good times. It benefits the entire community to increase the knowledge pool...

who is angry? Who is aggrivated? Why do ppl reply that way when users are debating issues? It was honest, noninflamatory debate based on differences of opinion. The problems result from people injecting drama where none exists.

this post is too funny, Mikefrombarrie, have you ever 1/4 a car?? if you dont have much experience your not getting anywhere close to the 13's. ITs not that your mods arent any good its just that most drivers, dont get the results they expect....as they are inexperienced..... If you really care about improving the performance of your car i strongly recommend taking it to the autocross or a road race track. ITs much more fun then a drag strip, and if you were to dump as much money into the suspension as you did with the titanium exhaust and the wheels......your car will see significant improvement!
