Any other causes it could be besides hte VDI. It seems to be operating ok on the car through various tests. I plan on logging a run or two when i get off of work. See if it shows anything abnormal but i dunno. if i was planning on doing the dyno i would have logged the pulls.

taken with a video phone by my friend.... so kinda crappy but you get the idea

is their a drag strip near you?

you can always do that to a get a trap speed. from that you can get a rough estimate of your hp and we can see if the dyno is totally off.

i dont know anything about the 1/8, but i guess its possible too. it just seems too short a distance to get an accurate reading. but im probably wrong.

Well i plan on postin some logs up on here later on tonight. But its odd, it pulls fine and everything feels smooth. I get a dip up high but thats normal without tuning from what i hear. I believe the dyno was just a corrected dyno so i am not really upset with the numbers or anything. But, now the peak power at a lower RPM is what i am concerned about. I do not know if that was a dyno issue also or if its a problem with my car.

92mph is not a bad trap speed. i trapped 93.0 @ 14.48 and 92.28 @ 14.70.

same runs but 1/8 mile times.
75.56 @ 9.3
75.29 @ 9.5

some people have trapped 95.5 stock, supposedly. i dont see how thats possible in this car. must be one of the freak 195whp ones.

cat ok ?
looks like a combination of a low reading dyno and a high rpm fault
definately not right . I would have said coils if you had not just replaced them .....

As far as coils go, i have been talking to a few people through PM and we have been discussign coils. So, tongiht i took off the Ignition Soulution and I intsalled the stock coils. I have logged runs with both sets and they both seem to look ok. I go back to the dyno between tomorrow and saturday to see if this was my problem.

However, i am not knocking the Mazsport product by any means. I beleive it is due to the dwell settings that the Ignition Solution requires. I do not have hte engine management to change the settings to this is why i believe the coils are not functioning properly. *IF* this fixes the problem then when i get teh COBB then the Mazsport product will go back on when the proper settings can be changed.

It has been believed that the NA cars would not have to change the dwell for the upgraded ignition. this may not be my problem but this is the direction that things are taking me right at the moment.

I agree some people would be a little upset. but *IF* it is the coils then it is only the dwell settings that need to be changed. It is still a quality product that just has to be set up correctly for our cars. Once again the coils may not even be the problem, it could be something totally different and unrelated.

Anyone else done an NA dyno with the Ignition Solution?

I haven't yet but plan on doing so soon. I don't think it will be a good comparison because my previous dyno for my re-manufactured engine was low due to stock coils being old. I'll try to clean my air filter and swap my plugs soon so that I can put down the best possible numbers and get one scheduled so we can compare somewhat between the two.

Alright, Just to let everyone know, I am delaying posting my results and findings. Scott has been helping me out from day one of my first dyno. We examined the VDI and were checking into the coils. We have been PMing back and forth for about a week and he even gave me a call today when i was on the dyno. After i found my results i sent him an email containing the dyno graph and he instantly called me to discus the graph and what i should do next and what can be done. I am not posting the results of the last dyno -untill- scott and i get everything worked out and as far as what the issues were and why they are occuring on my car.

In my defence i am not taking a side and defending Mazsport's coils; but, at the same time i am not going to throw Scott under the buss and say that his coils are the problem. I believe this is just a way to show respect to someone who has helped me out the way he has and is showing excellent customer support. In a few days i have a feeling everything will be resolved and everything will be posted up and or explained in detail on why my curve was the way it is/was.
