Yes if you buy from him. You'll need to go through 3-4 iterations to get a good custom tune via his virtual process. It's the best way to go. I just wanted to make sure you were not going to just buy the AP from Cobb and expect 30hp. I picked up 15 peak, and 9 average through the rev. range with his dyno tuning on my car. Others picked up more and others picked up less. it depends. Point is you need a tuner to tune the AP to your car that knows what they are doing. also only MM changes the parameters on your car including more oil, cooler fans, higher redline. You can use the Cobb Racetuner software but you will be starting from scratch and unless you are a Rotary Tuner and understand what you're doing your efforts will be in vain.

BTW can anyone give me advice on installing a catless mid-pipe? Any specific tools that would be needed? Car jacked up a specific way? Etc.

just when you remove the cat, remember to try and loosen up the nut and not the bolt, cus the bolt might be stuck

HUH? no, there wont be anything in there, its just a pipe, unbolt, remove, put to the side, get the midpipe, put in position along with any gastkets to make it airtight, and bolt on...

Thanks. Excuse my noobness, but I'd rather ask a dumb question ahead of time than report back that my hands were burnt off from left over fuel

One more thing: I've heard a lot of gaskets or bolts are being broken when changing exhaust components. What's up with that?

I know, its a link to another place delete if you want mods....but if your having a CEL on a mid pipe here you go

http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showt...defouler+trick

and the larger the diameter of the midpipe the lower the tone, not quieter. all of them are going to be about the same DB level. I didnt notice much smell of fuel, but im a smoker so my sense of smell is shot anywho.

The exhust gets very hot.Its only a bolt and a nut.

No big deal.

Professionals don't even losen those. The cut off and use new ones.

Time is money at a shop.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Just waiting on my return now. The mid-pipe should bring me up to 2.5 mods!

Wtf is this talk about gasoline smell? I think it smells good lol. Comment about the smell not affecting people behind you is false. My friends always tell me they can smell the gas "trail" for a 1/4 mile or more -_-. Meaning just try not to let cops follow behind you or they might notice. The smell isnt that bad where your eyes water , unless you're a *****
