It's not on this site because the rx8 can't "kill" any of it's competitors....only forums for cars that are actually fast have a kills section. I can almost guarantee that if this car was as fast as a wrx or 350z you'd have a kill section here (the moderators can deny that fact all they want, you know it's true!)

Just for the record a stock WRX will beat an 8 in the strait. If anyone was keeping up with one, it was becuase the driver sucked.

We have never had a kills forum on here, and we never will. And yes, Rotarygod is a mod, and Ryan knows about this, and will (and does) back us up. Saves a lot of ugliness and bragging between members. The decision wa made a long time ago, as it adds nothing of value to the forum. Most of the stuff posted in kills sections is a bunch of made-up epeen bragging. It is not going to happen here.

And, Niro, you're saying people on the Protege Forum are fast, then, I guess? Obviously that's why THEY have a kills section.

the protege doesn't cost 35k... You can have a kill section on a 15k car....you put a kill section on a 35k car and get beat by accords and minivans and it's pretty embarassing. The decision was made a long time ago...when they realized it can't beat anything in its price range. Sad but true.

$1700 to go faster? Hmmm... Nitros system, but that gets expensive in the long run. Bottle after bottle. I would go with that Canzoomer setup, midpipe, and cat. Supposedly you can turn off the Canzoomer or something and the 8 will switch to it's normal programming (can someone confirm that). That's seems more sensible sense it's your girls car. When you drive, turn it on. When she drives, it's her choice.

As far as kills are concerned... many people have told kill stories on this board in the name of "spirited driving". People have said my 8 is too slow (how did you find that out outside a drag strip). I think it's quite enough. Call it a kill. And if you were killed, and you will be a lot racing an 8 without FI, then say you got killed. No more "i was out and an EVO pulled next to me so we decided to have a spirited drive...". Just say I was out in my 8 and an EVO wooped my a**.

The bottom line in this debate is that the RX-8 will never really be a fast car in the strait. All the modifications necessary to add serious torque and hp cost way to much. Most of the good modifications will also void the warranty. In the end your better off trading in the 8 and getting something FI'd if your not satisfied with stait line performance.

However, if you want a dead sexy car, that handles well, and for the most part can be an every day driver, the 8 is you car. I saw for the most part, because the gas mileage on the 8 is terrible, and it can get expensive if you have to drive to work. Additionally, if you want a car that can be driven confidentally in bad weather, the 8 is proabably not your car.

If you go into a Mazda dealership now, and buy an new 04 or 05 you can get a GT for 26. Thats what I paid for mine.

ok 26kish for bone stock...not click on the competitors button. The 8 can't beat a single car on that list...except the real cheap ones on there (sub 17k).

So why have a kill list for a car that can't beat anything in its price range...not even with mods?

I guess there must be nothin but BAD WRX drivers around here? As well as two STR-4's, as Kenny Rogers once said "gotta know when to hold um" Neither one of those cars has "that" much of a jump on an 8 to steer me from giving um a run.....at least in my expirence. I went onto each board and looked for some lies from getting smoked by a 8. Couldn't find any, by the way the road might have well been closed(same spot) and didn't hit 75mph in a 55mph zone. Wrong yes could be worse...certainly. Kill section..no, reason not because an 8 is "slow" (far from) becasue it just doesn't fit with most of the owners on this board including me. It's very rare where I'll think about it, but when sideways hat wearing punks with fart cans think they have something to prove, it's fun to shatter their very fragile ego's every once in a GREAT while.

Our cars are certainly powerful enough not to put our tails between our legs for a "me too" 350 or Impreza Rex. Both great cars but run away from a 8, not mine at least. Racing is wrong

I've owned both a WRX and an 8, and the WRX is much faster from a stop, there is no doubt about that. From a roll the cars are about the same, but the extra torque and the all wheel drive the WRX will more than make up for the extra 100 pounds it caries.

I’ve never owned a SRT-4, but I am confident that it would spank an 8.

As for your comments on fart canned punks, you couldn’t be more wrong about the WRX. The car is solid, and more economical than the 8. Don't generalize everyone who drives the car.

Last weekend my best friend brought his gt3 to the track and there was an STI, 350z, and a Z06 playing on the track. Needless to say that the GT3 made those cars look like a waste of money. The driver in z06 was not pushing the car to the limits imo but it still couldn't catch us in the straights. We slowed down for the z06 3 times for the straight but it just couldn't catch us. Other than that the sti was out shining the 350z pretty easily in the turns and the straights. Anyways, the moral of this story is who gives a flying f@#$ about beating a 350z or a WRX? The food chain is quite large with sports cars and the wrx,350z,rx8..........is close to the bottom. :p

Opposite story...there was recently a GT3 at a local VIR event getting pwn3d by a civic hatch in the technical sections.

Doesn't matter what you drive, its the driver skill that counts most.

Nobody ever said I was trying to change the forum or its rules!! All I said and was that some of the stuff people say are funny and sometimes its cool to see what other cars did against another car (thats if they are telling the truth)
So from what I gathered the majority of the people are saying that there isnt anything that you can do to make the car MUCH faster for a conservitive dollar amount SO inother words your trying to tell me that if you put the majority of ALL RX8s togeher and ran them that there really wouldnt be that much of a difference in how quick/fast eachothers cars are? is that what Im understanding here? Because thats crap! I know for a fact that you can take 2 of the same cars NO MATTER what the make or model and depending on the driver one car will be a **** load faster than the other in the twisties or in a straight line!!! So lets get off pointing the fingers or trying to come to a conclusion on what one of the 3 cars is the fastes because that will never be answered. Its like asking a guy that likes domestics "whats faster a mustang or a camaro" they will argue until they are blue in the face! And besides that was not my original question, All I was trying to find out is what i can do to make the car a little faster. Because before the other cars got modded the 8 was door to door and all I want to do is make the playing ground a little more even, thats ALL!

not true...it definetly matters what you drive. You know how easy it is to make a civic fast? For 6k you can make a civic as fast as an sti.

And as far as sports cars go...like it or not, the rx8 is pretty much in the bottom of the pile when it comes to straight line performance. ofcourse if you compare it to a 70k monster then wrx, 350z and rx8 all look pretty pathetic, but why don't we compare apples to apples, at least keep it in the same price range. Just to add insult to injury...the rx8 is pretty much maxxed out at where we are now...very difficult to make it go any faster....and pretty much nothing will make it keep up with an sti.

I hate when people say that driver skill is more important...ofcourse if you put a 10 year old behind the wheel of a wrx you'll probably beat him...but same driver skill there's no way an rx8 will beat it....spend 2k on the wrx and even the 10 year old will beat you.

SOOOOO TRUE!!! My friends Civic does low 13s WITHOUT his turbo. Total package, $15000. Plus turbo $18500. Can it handle corners? Yes.

Say, has anyone REALLY ever consider what's the limit of the 8? I mean has anybody here REALLY able to say honestly that they have driven a stock RX-8 to its limits? This is the reason I like the 8. It cost little, it's fun to drive, and it's actually pretty practical. But there is an area of unknownness about this car. If any of you have really, and I mean REALLY pushed this car in and out of corners and FLING (no not drifting) it out on straights, redline after redline, getting your crouch sweaty from trying to stay in your seat; YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. That the 8 MAYBE the ultimate sleeper.

More power ... yes please. But, this IS a DRIVERS car.
