Just thought the RX-8 community might like to see what we are working on for them. Here are the pics.

Interesting I guess...

Dumb question though *puts on flame suit* besides being the engine put in Supras, what is so special about this engine? I looked for specs and got the impression its just a 300+HP/Torque inline 6. Someone help me out please?

Thanks for the kind words everyone. These are the only pics so far, I'll try to get some up in the next day or so for you all. The engine in this one is going to be a fully built race engine with about 1,250 hp to the wheels. We'll have more info on this car for you all early this week, thanks.

I would love to see the dyno from that engine. Most race engines only produce hp at their redline right?

Um, how does 800HP on a stock bottom end sound? Very reliable and very bullitt proof if built right. Oh, and gas mileage could be great on a low boost setting when compared to a 20b.

The major selling points for the RX-8 to me were styling and the unique engine. Given that, I'm obviously not going to be all that excited about this. Whatever floats your boat, though.

Anyway, congratulations on the swap, it looks to fit well.

Why people love that engine so much?

because it contains most of the state of the art techology (90s) from Toyota. Toyota spent alot of time into this engine and the result is that, you can boost it to 2-3 times its stock power without any major engine work (like polishing, enlarge, etc)

People love easy power, I mean who does not like easy power? I want easy power too! but I just never like drag racing, its stupid.

okay... guys help me... one of the greatest attributes of the 8 is it's handling... a great contributer is the 50/50 balance... what the hell is this engine goin' to do to that balance... I didn't see the battery in the pic so it's either relocated to the rear to help with the weight distribution or just taken out to get a photo of the engine bay...

Interesting swap. 2JZ is a good motor, capable of lots of power, but its seems to be the new fad for everyone. Theres a shop back in California that just did a 2JZ for a 240 & now there are working on putting a 2JZ in a RX7. My buddy works for there shop actually..

I have to say, thought its not something I would do & obviously all the rotary lovers would do either, I do admire your time & dedication to such a product. Cant wait to see the end results.

renesis with turbo isn't a light motor, neither is a 20b. fully dressed wet weight of 20b w/ single turbo is only about 50lbs lighter than fully dressed, wet ls1. and i'd guess i6 would be bit ligher than the v8.

i think the concern here is that i6 isn't really a compact engine... renesis and 20b are very compact.
