Turbo Shops Around Jacksonville

Anyone know any good turbo shops in or around Jacksonville,Fl ?

Looking for one with a dyno for tuning.

So far all I can find is shops wanting 2k-3k for install + tuning here in SE Georgia.

I live about 1hr-45mins from Jax so not too bad considering I go there quite a bit.

Thanks

don't try velocity trends they're work is half a**ed as i've seen thru my friends cars. there should be one on normandy blv in jacksonville, don't know the name. there are also some domestic car shops that do some good work. i don't think stage 6 is around, anymore but they used to do good work.

good luck

Ah - that one is not too bad, as long as you don't break any parts... two hard days work and it could be installed.

The issues I've had with it were usually bunk *** parts - which required a trip to the store... etc etc... and turned it into a 4 days project.

How far are you from Panama City Beach?

If you want my honest no BS opinion... if you are looking to make this kind of engine modification step; you should be doing it yourself / learning from someone... and the reason I say that is that stuff is going to go wrong and you'll go broke paying someone else to fix it.

Especially with this particular kit. I am game to spend a weekend up there if your interested... hit me up.

If I can't find a shop, Im going to get my brother n law to do it. He builds mustangs but Ill still need a good tune. If he does do it then I'll be around learning what I can lol. Pretty much just trying to find a shop that can install & tune it. But if all fails, I'll get at you.

Thanks

For those that don't know.

In ANY project - you have two phases, development and maintenance.

20% of your capital will go to development... the other 80% will go to maintenance..... so 3-4K in the beginning statistically guarantees you're gonna spend another 6K in keeping that car going. Right off the bat you have oil drain line, couplers, turbo, BOV and Wastegate, EMS maybe, Ignition, Cooling, Clutch that are all going to be on the upgrade list - and that is from Day One.

So if you're sucking it up on the 3-4K... I have bad news for you.

You can mitigate that by doing the maintenence yourself....

Yeah I kinda imagined the domestic would end up that way. I've talked to Velocity trends about getting at FIC tuned for my car and they have never touched an RX8. a buddy of mines has a GT Eclipse that they tuned for his spray. when we looked at the graphs, they practically just retarded the fuel the same degree thru his entire rpm. this made no sense and we showed it to couple of ppl that are experienced withtunes on his forum and they explained to us they were being lazy and just did a quick fix and got $300 out of him. he lost power instead of gaining it. they are the only ones i know have a dyno here in jax that play with tunes but i wouldn't trust them. They are some tune shops around orlando area that i've heard worked on rx8.

I agree with kane, might as well get your hands dirty that way you will know where everything is. in case something breaks and your see or hear leaks at least you will know how to tackle the problem with your own fix.
