RX-8 owners in Abacoa/Jupiter FL
Just wondering if there are any owners in my area here on the board. I have seen a silver 8 around the skate park in Abacoa and also a black one at the school around the corner from there. Anyone here????

Hey you guys - I'm up here in the Gardens....don't see many of us around - in fact I hardly ever see any. I don't get up to Abacoa too often - mostly around PGA & Military and Fairway by Shoppes on the Green. Yellow RX8 - I'll be looking for you guys. Check out the meet that's being planned for 2/29 at Wellington Green Mall. I was hoping to go but now have family coming in from NY. Sounds like it could be alot of fun. Has anyone thought of going out to Moroso Park to play? I'm pretty frustrated - no place to really let the car out anywhere around here - how about you?

Hey guys, I am Ti Gray and actually live in Abacoa which is why I started the thread. I would love to go to the meet but I will be out of town that weekend - I just hope to do it again and meet everyone. I have not found anywhere safe enough or remote enough to really open up the car. I am below 1K miles and have been a good boy so far (not too eager to eat up my first set of tires prematurely also). Have not heard of Moroso, I will look it up on the web. Hope to see you guys around.

The beeline is a nice place if you feel like opening it up a bit. Long, straight, flat, reasonably well kept. There's hardly ever any cops, but a radar detector wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't think the cops out here have instant-on radar/laser systems yet. A drive through would also do the trick, as there's not many places to hide.

Moroso is the speedway out here - have meets and stuff on weekends. I'm wondering if they let you play on their track at all? Or maybe we could arrange a meet up here and see if they'll host it. I've started using the triptronics a whole lot more now - trying to see if the gas mileage improves. I'm just over 2K so I'm pushing it a little harder. I'm being a good girl too - lol

The great thing about the rotary is you really don't have to be that gentle while breaking it in. I broke mine in the way I intended to drive it. I was redlining it at 400 miles. :p
Moroso will not let you just take your car onto their road course. As far as I know they have no open track days. The NASA holds HPDE's out there (see the sticky in this forum), and that's about your only shot of taking it onto the road course. The drag strip is much more accessible though. They usually hold test & tune nights on wed. and fri.
