well, guys 8 days to track time. Grand Turismo is a great place. I told them I knew charlie and they said to charge me an extra $20. Great guys.
My alignment settings ended up being -1.4 on the front with a -1.8 on the rear. Car sure drives a lot tighter now!My stock settings were al over the place. It was no damn wonder i could turn better to the left than to the right! I have the stock suspension except for the rb bars.
I did notice one thing though on a transitioning turn interstate ramp at full throttle in 3nd. I had some "chassis windup" or something. It reminded me of a solid rear axle on with a poor positrac unit. kinda. It would wind up then release, wind up then release. Anyone ever experinced that? I dont know if it was the suspension change or the change over to royal purple in the diff(although it shouldnt be that),
They also put my brake pads on. My rotors where in great shape and get this my front pads after 4 track days an autocross and 23000 miles where only 3/4's done! My back pads wher 1/2 done! And everyone knows I dont drive real easy on the track!
Nabil showed up for a little while and yes he is fired up!
Meet a guy that transports exotic cars for a living. He showed up in a cobra kit car.
All in all it was a very interesting place.
Highy recommend it.

ps oh yea stopped by and saw charlie and the crew. The front end he has looks nice(i really dont like kits but his did look good) but he has done something else that is really sweet. I mean really sweet. I cant tell what it is but i have to tease everyone about it. He will have it out soon. Actually a couple of things. NAd they are NOT expensive.

I got my oil changed today. Looks like my brake pads need to be replaced. I have a set of Hawk HP+ on order for the front and HPS for the rear. I should have them Monday or Tuesday. Glad I didn't wait until next week to do all this

With all this brak talk, I'm going to have to check mine.

Nabil,

Let us know when the R1's are on the wheels and you've taken them for a spin around the block.

man
Does getting your wheels set up right help---oh hell yea! Car is tight and man is it stable in aturn. Totally differant machine! I thought it was good before!
Going easy on the brakes but today got caught in one of those surprise redlight changes and I pushed them just a little and OH MY GOD! Damn car will scare you stopping. I am serious guys. I need a better seatbelt. If you never had good pads on before the carbotech panter 8's on the front and the bobcats in the back are more than you will ever need. I talked the local Pepboys into stocking royal purple 5w20. They are in Macon Ga so if anyone needs any---.
Seriously guys if you have never had a performance alignment and better brake pads on your car you dont know what you are missing.

Yea i guess it'll be fun if you're into that sort of thing!!!!!! Man I am getting envious now. I wish you all the best and hope that maybe if only for a second you will miss me. It was great to see OD and Nabil this week and can't wait to hear all the tall tales of " no ****, there I was, ducking inside and passing him like he was standing still".

May I suggest River Street as a fine place for trackaholics to converge? I love Savannah!!!!! Oh well I'll get good pics the next week at 7stock.

Hey now, my car handles like an 8, an 8 with a high center of gravity......

I got an email off to Julie just now, and I am sending my money and stuff in in the AM, after spending some QT with my beautiful daughter, whom I haven't seen more than 2 hours for the last 3 weeks. Sorry, I have priorities, and she is number 1, 2, and 3. Then my wife and car tie for 4th, j/k.

I won't be instructing at Seat-time, I have to work, and the boss was, crystal clear, about me missing another Friday, especially since the last one I missed was to interview for another team........ However, I will be there with my Evo, waiting to recieve a beating from you guys....

See you in a few, very few days....

O"TM"D,

Since the rubber contact is what is really stopping the car, you need to see the car stop with racing rubber on. I bet your new brakes and wide, large contact patch racing rubber with empty your tear ducts when you stand on the brakes!

I want to hear what Nabil thinks about his tires and brakes. He'll be as giddy as a school girl.

Roger that. It is going to be a big enough adjustment with these pads. Things are awesome dude- i am not bs-ing! The intial bite is throw youre dang falseteeth out your mouth fast! I really am going to have to get used too these as it brakes so hard it can really throw the chassis into a position you where not expecting. Especially with these stock shocks we have.
Getting closer.
We will miss you Charlie. Let us know about 7 stock.
Stf--man who are you kidding. You are the man at this track and you have a great car/setup. I am going to try and follow youre line---at least until i get a feel for the track.
I havent gotten a package/letter from NASA yet. Do we get one this time?

I am filling my stuff out. I am such the procrastinator.

I won't be too fast, my boost is still off, and I am debating on the blow off valve. I may pull the trigger, but i want to get my daughter a DVD for her room, so she will leave my HD TV alone for her d*mn barney movies.

I am so siked, I may need a place too stay, I am going to call around tomorrow.

They get to temp very fast. I went for a short drive in the area around my house and I could immediately tell the difference. The tires just hang on to the road. I am very impressed. I think it will be amazing at Roebling! Unfortunately, in my excitement to try them out, I left the wheel lock key on the locking lug nut and it fell off somewhere. So I can't take the tires off the car. Charlie was gracious enough to offer to help me tomorrow get them off. This is a lifesaver because of my busy schedule with work next week and the need to get the Toyos off and drive on the street rubber.

HAHA, I almost did the same thing several times. I change wheels at least monthly for autocrosses and track schools. I went to Mazda and they gave me replacements so I don't use the locking nuts anymore. If you want to replace them, just ask any mazda dealer. Mine was more than happy to let me have a full set of regular nuts, so I have extra if you want them. Those locks were nothing but an annoyance to me.

I'm glad you like the RA1's. We'll have a blast at Roebling with our racing rubber. You and O"TM"D will still get me on the straights though with the mods you all have.

Ditched my locking lugs too, if you do many track events, you need to do this, so you don't have an issue, where you can't rotate. Say, like 3 days at Kershaw, finding out you left your key in Road Atlanta.

This has to be one of the funniest threads I've ever read. I can sit back with a few beers and just read this for entertainment. You guys are a hoot! I'm really sorry I will not see you in Savannah. I hope some of you will decide to go to the Rock for the NASA event in Oct... https://www.rx8club.com/se-rx-8-forum-30/nasa-nc-speedway-rockingham-oct-22-23-a-71826/. The Porsche 944 club requested I attend to photograph for them so I've scheduled that one on my calendar.

well at least we have 2 men here. -----JK----! Glad you are not wearing your rubber out before your trip. Got rid of my locking nuts ages ago-- they were a damn pain.
I just drained my oil, castrol 5/20 with 3k on it and it was like water. Again I am glad I switched to RP. I will let everyone know my cell number later this week.
SOON!

I wouldn't really worry about it. Once they find you that "The Man" is coming to their event, they'll not only let you in, but they'll ask for an autograph too!
