I think I get the picture. Sounds similar to the nightlife in Danville, VA (near VIR). On Sundays, you gotta cross the border into N. Carolina to get a beer. Here's a pic of the Executive's swim-up bar.....

Here's a picture of their pool and beach. In the background you can see their hide-away, love cabins. Yes, Sireee, Bob! A real tropical paradise on the streets of downtown Kershaw!

I do believe that is the airport in the background on the top of the hill. Main Street does get a little crowded during rush hour but get's pretty lively at night. Kurt and I stayed in the special promotion cottage, the one behind the big Palm Tree. You can sit out on the patio and watch the local children play! A cool drink of fresh spring water really perks you up on those hot evenings after a long hot July day on the track.

I will be doing Panoz Track Days at the same time you guys are at CMP. I have the E-Z Up and since more of you will be attending this event, I suggest someone cary it with you. L8, you may want to meet me for lunch sometime and pick it up.

I can do that. What about this week. I can go ahead and get it from you, and get it over to the storage unit, and we won't have to worry about it later. Then I can just bring it to Barber a couple weeks after CMP.

How are we all getting to CMP. I know that TA is driving the event, so he obviously needs his car, and I know it is a 5 hour trek from here. Phlash, are you driving to the track from your place and meeting us there?

Is anyone going by Charlie's before CMP? I have a set of rotors there that I'd love transport on. I'll be heading to CMP a different route and not going through ATL. Can someone help please?

only if you show me how to get those F****ing guide screws out of the front rotors. My impact driver is counter intuitive, and only irritated me.

Sure. No problem. What I did was remove the rotor assembly (4 bolts on the back after the brake caliper and back plate are removed) and remove the rotor and the ABS sensor in the back. This is the round plastic part on the rear hub. You have to disconnect the plastic connector with the wiring. Use a table top (workbench vice) clamp to clamp the outside of the hub on the square part of the 4 bolts, letting the pressure rest on the rotor/hub, not the plastic part (you'll see it when you remove it). This way the rotor is in the horizontal position. Holding the impact driver with the right phillips head on it in a vertical position, hit it with a small sledge to drive the screws loose. I tried it the first time on the car, and it didn't work well. If all else fails, or you don't feel comfortable, take the rotor/hub assembly to a brake place and they should be able to remove it for free (they did this for me the first time before I got an impact driver). Let me know if that works. If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them.

I wish I could, I am slammed today, and probably will be the rest of the week, I have a big deadline Friday before I go on vacation, so I need to be at work as much as possible. I think it might have to wait until we do the first monthly meet on the 21st. Sorry man, just have a lot to do.

I think I may meet you guys at the hotel or track.....if I go through hotlanta, it adds 149 miles to my trip each way....so......I'll have to see if there is a place we may cross.......has anyone on our roomie list reserved a room yet?

I have not reserved anything yet, if someone can remind me of where we are supposed to reserve a room, I can take care of it.

I wondered about that trip for you, I figured it owuld add too much for you to come through ATL first, and I figured the same for me to head up there. SO we will all just meet at the track, this way we can all do touring laps.

You guys have fun and be safe and I hope they give all of you in HPDE 2 the pink sticker!
I will be at Barber Motorsports Park that weekend at the Chin event.
Oh - and I will be at Roebling again in 7 days driving with the Triangle Z club. This time my goal will be to drive it without the VDC and get my heal-toe down. A Z instructor finally told me how it works on the Z - totally different than how you guys do it on the 8.
Hope to see you all at Road Atlanta in August.

I was going to, but I am trying to save a little money. I have been spending a little too much on the car and track stuff this year, so I am trying to cut back. It gets expensive quick. Especially since I need tires. I go throught them like crazy.

I am also going to work the NASA event at RA in August, then drive Roebling in September for free. Which reminds me, I need to register to work this one today.

I'm going to try to work the August RA event as well. Then I COULD do RR for free (which was going to be the RX-7 debut), but we have a week trip scheduled there for my wife's birthday. I'll have to wait until teh Rock or next year for my freebie.

but are you driving the event at CMP. I only ask becuase if you are working, you could meet me here, and then we could go from here to the track in one car. If you are driving, then it does not matter.

yeah, I signed up last night...to work. Sticking to the work to play for free mantra. It will be hard, but I will survive. Maybe toward the end of the year, in the fall, we can look at renting a place like TGPR again, that was a lot of fun.
