Hey guys, here is some red meat for y’all to look forward to at Road Atlanta. Road Atlanta is probably my favorite track and I've got tons of video from there. Here are a couple of clips.

This clip is when I had a friend of mine in the car with me who had never been on track before. He is giggling and has his mobile phone taking pictures. During this clip we get our *** handed to us by a Supra driven by a Grand Am driver. This Supra had over 600 hp and he knew how to use every damn one of them:

Hidey Ho Silver!

Here's a clip of just a regular lap with nothing going on. This one should be used if you're interested in the line and no drama whatsoever.

Plain Vanilla

Enjoy! Now get ready for Road Atlanta!

BPK, what do you think it will take for TTA at Road Atlanta? I don't think I can go much under a 1:38, without more ponies....

STF, 1:38 will take TTU. That Supra, with 600 HP+ and a professional driver, did 1:36+ on Saturday, and after turning the boost up on Sunday, did a 1:33+.

If history is any indication, I would suspect a 1:40 or 1:41 or better will take TTA, depending on track conditions.

S8, yea that guy with me was a hoot.

Here's a link to some video of that Supra owner. One is from that weekend at Road Atlanta, another is from Watkins Glen. He's a world class driver.

PM me for some pics if any of you are interested. I'm asking $650 for everything. Its a low price because I need to get rid of them asap.

Don't worry, I still have the rx8 for the track, but I have something else for autox. Thanks for the time and be safe at RA.
Mind if I take them for a 2 day test drive to see if I like them???

BPK, I thought there were some folks in TTA running 1:40's? I went a best 1:42, after looking at the tape, but with the new mods, and the better tires, I am hoping for 3s improvement. However, I wasn't taking heat into consideration. I am not sure the track will be at the best condition for those times.

Oh, I thought you were asking if 1:38 would take TTA. It would very easily take TTA. I won the TTA in March with a 1:40.xxx, but the track conditions were pretty good then and a lot better than they'll be in August, and there were a lot of fast cars there. I'd guess a good solid 1:41 will probably get the job done in the hot August weather.

I don't think I can get below 1:42. I was there a couple of weeks ago and couldn't get the ol' mojo working.

Man, I bet that was painful. Those are fabulous track cars. For the price, they're the best performance buy out there, but I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know.

Are you serious??? If the 2 day test drive is at RA, then I'm not too sure about that. I would hate to have to try and sell them with 2 days of track on them. Lego, how much wear did you see on your 710's at Roebling?

Yeah, I am going to miss the car. He is supposed to pick up the car Monday, but I am looking forward to another new project. The BMW will make a great car, and I a siked about doing a new project. I will, eventually, be adding a little boost to the car, letting the guys from AMS tune it, however, for now, it will be a daily for the wife.

They wore great at Roebling. Very even, I was pleasantly surprised. At CMP, after the 6 sessions in one day, the tires got a bit overheated. They have good tread on them though. I'll bring them to RA. The RX-7 won't be ready, at least not to the point that I feel comfortable with it. 13 x 7 racing wheels on the way for it though. So... I'll be driving the RX-8 in HPDE3.

Lego - it'll be great to have you on track with me, KurtBob, and OD! Isn't it cool how we all started tracking a couple years ago and we have all advanced up through the HPDE ranks? I am excited now!

I'm taking my son out this Sunday for his 2nd pre NASA lesson. This time we will concentrate on final lap cool down because it will be more important this time than ever before because of the heat and two drivers for one car. When I told him he could not use the brakes on the cool down lap... there was dead silence on the other end of the telephone. The he said... "Well, what am I supposed to do in turn 12?" We also will be watching and analyzing the Panoz training vid with a turn-by-turn breakdown of the track. Kevin's getting pumped and so am I.
