Come on RX-8 drivers. Lets see what why these cars are drivers cars. We are letting some non-Mazda vehicles enter. This is a great chance to get your feet wet if you've never autocrossed or tracked your car. Intermediates are signing up for the amount of runs that we'll get and experienced drivers will be testing and tuning.
The instructors will coach you. Don't worry about making mistakes. I'll be making them. Instructors will be making them...though at much faster speeds. NOBODY will escape without killing some cones. Its all fun. This not like some sort of driving test, just a good safe time.

Hey, to anyone who has done this event before... I'm a newbie with the track event stuff, and was curious what the overall cost was (I guess mostly gas and other regular expenses) when its all said and done???
Details/specifics would be preferred but any information would be great here (trying to see if this will fit into my monthly budget ).

It's kinda hard to put a total cost on it. Of course gas will probably be the biggest part. I figure since we will be there for a full day maybe a tank or so in gas just there alone plus whatever it takes to drive there. Also, cost for drinks and snacks. This will be my first time doing an AutoX but I have made many trips to the track and a typical weekend at the track would cost me anywhere from $75-$300 for food, gas, registration fees and little things like that.
