This should be a great event!!! C'mon people jump on this!

Registration is filling up fast...we're about half full and we have 3 and half weeks left till the event!
|
So what are the rules ad regulations for the event? i.e. helmet? 5 point harnes? jato rocket hanging out the trunk?
|
Gary, check out the site for full details, http://msccnc.org/forum ...but Ashraf told me they will provide helmets. Just bring your car, that's all the regs I saw.
|
yeah I browsed around that site, but had to go here to see the info about helmets.
http://www.msccnc.org/events/ax/02-2007/ Thanks for the response though, and I'll be there. All ya'll other 8's should show too. The track looks like it will be a fun challange. |
Be nice to have an RX-8 / RX-7 showdown.

14 spots left!!!

Come on RX-8 drivers. Lets see what why these cars are drivers cars. We are letting some non-Mazda vehicles enter. This is a great chance to get your feet wet if you've never autocrossed or tracked your car. Intermediates are signing up for the amount of runs that we'll get and experienced drivers will be testing and tuning.
The instructors will coach you. Don't worry about making mistakes. I'll be making them. Instructors will be making them...though at much faster speeds. NOBODY will escape without killing some cones. Its all fun. This not like some sort of driving test, just a good safe time. |
I'm rounding up some folks... What other makes are you letting in? I'm only recruiting 8's, but curious what else will be there.
|
There are 10 slots left! IIRC, we have a few non-Mazdas: Lotus Elises, BMW M3 & 328, Integra...to name a few.
|
Okay... I talked the wife into it. =) She said as long as there was no chance for me to crash into anything she was fine with it... hah.
Signed up and looking forward to it! |
Hey, to anyone who has done this event before... I'm a newbie with the track event stuff, and was curious what the overall cost was (I guess mostly gas and other regular expenses) when its all said and done???
Details/specifics would be preferred but any information would be great here (trying to see if this will fit into my monthly budget :) ). |
It's kinda hard to put a total cost on it. Of course gas will probably be the biggest part. I figure since we will be there for a full day maybe a tank or so in gas just there alone plus whatever it takes to drive there. Also, cost for drinks and snacks. This will be my first time doing an AutoX but I have made many trips to the track and a typical weekend at the track would cost me anywhere from $75-$300 for food, gas, registration fees and little things like that.
|
Still a handful of slots left. Fees will not increase for late registration as originally planned.
We will have some water and/or Gatorade available. |
Great event. Good to see a fair number of RX-8s go toe to toe.
