Sweaty helmets can be nasty. You should look into buying one.

A medium would do just fine if you've got it.

i've got a skull cap I was planning on wearing underneath to address that issue. If all goes well, I'll buy one after the event. I just want to make sure it's something that's going to be put to use b4 I make the purchase.

yes, everyone is online, the anticipation is killing all of us.

Misterwilson, if you plan to do many track events, it would be a good idea to go ahead and buy a helmet now. If you are still trying to decide if track driving is for you, that is a different issue.

^You hit the nail on the head^

I'm sure I'll make the purchase in the future, but I would prefer to wait just to make sure that it is in fact all you guys make it out to be!!

Ok, guys, here is the story....all checks have been cashed, save two. One I lost, nice looking check from a company, another from Pam, whose is going in today. I have the receipt in my hands, so the track is OURS. Now, I spoke with David *track owner* and he said there are some 'new' rules for crowds. We cannot have more than 10 cars at the track at any given time, due to insurance. Therefore, we need to 'play' with the rides situation, so if anyone wants to come down, then, we need to make sure they ride with someone who is driving. We can have one extra car there, mine, as a shuttle. Also, I may want one of you to drive my car, *(Track Addict), I need to get some times, and I want to see the car on-track in some constant radius corners. Not hard driving, but consistent.

Ok, anyone else need anything, don't hesistate to call. I am going to try to ride down to the tunner session, who all is going to be there?

Man, it's a hell of a car to drive. That AWD is just amazing! It's new experience and it was a hoot at Roebling!

Got the Hawk HP+ pads yesterday. Ordered some Speed Bleeders to come in later this week and also got some extra DOT4. I'm slowly getting ready. This weekend will be all track prep. The wife knows to leave me alone for several hours on Sat too!

T-minus 11 days and counting....

My good friend just picked up a 2000 Mustang GT as a relatively inexpensive track car. He will be in HPDE1 at Road Atlanta in March. Looks like the car will handle very well with a couple grand of suspension mods. I think he is going stock for now until he gets a chance to see how it behaves on track. I think I did talk him into a set of RT615 though.

mustangs can be made into a great car--with lots of work. for playing it is a great deal. Its a better drag car than track speaking off the shelf. it sure can rotate easy so advise him to easy does it! i do hope he upgrades the brake pads, they are heavy cars and notorious for brake fade (with stock brakes) glad to see friends bringing other types to the track.

Mustangs can be made to handle very well, anyone who rides in 32v's car will see that. However, you have to be prudent in your selection of parts, so that one compliments the other. Unlike an Evo or RX8, doing one thing before another can make the car substaintally worse.

I spent about 3G in suspension and brakes for my Mustang.....FWIW

At the BMW CCA event at Road Atlanta in October, 3 Doraville police cars (Mustangs) went through 3 sets of brakes each in the three days of driving.
