Exclamation Online Chat

We need to go ahead and set up a time we can meet in the chat room 32VCobra mentioned. How is Sunday Jan 22 at 8pm for everyone?

I think I did talk him into a set of RT615 though.
That is very smart of him to take it to the track before dumping a bunch of money into suspension upgrades. His money will be well spent if he tackles each weakness he finds for himself rather than what he reads somewhere or here's from someone second-hand.

Olddragger is right about the brakes though. For safety's sake, he should consider upgrading to the Cobra PBR calipers and brakes in the front as one of his first mods. The stock rears are fine.

Rotate easy? In stock form, I had to work hard to get my car to rotate. It was a plowing pig. If a stock Mustang rotates easily, 9 times out of 10 the corner is already blown and the car snap oversteers from the driver cranking the wheel too much trying to keep from understeering off the track... FWIW

T-minus 9 days and counting....

Silver8, let us know what you think of the flywheel. Also, when I got the redline, the transmission felt a bit smoother, more so on very cold mornings.

yeah, i have been watching that, and keep hoping that once again, the guys predicting the weather is wrong.

I know we still go if it rains, but do we still keep the windows open?

Ok, I am ok with windows up, ....... we will see when we get there.

Another point, DON'T be upset if it rains......I promise you will learn more in the rain in one day than two in the dry. I LOVE to ride in the rain.

Also, I will be happy to give AWD rides to feel the difference between AWD And RWD. It really is pretty amazing.

Smile, a bad day at the track is better than a great week of work.

i wont be completely destoyed if it rains. it is fun to drive in the rain, it allows you to slide the car a little more, and learn how to control that slide. my last autox event was in the rain, and it was a lot of fun. i learned alot about the handling of the car that day. so rain or shine, i will be happy, because you are right, a day at the track, is still a day at the track, and a good day it will be.

I was just not looking forward to the copious amounts of water inside the car. every drop moved by the drivers side wiper, ends up on the window, and if there is no window, well, it ends up in the car.

9 and counting....

If it does rain, should I put on my newer tires instead of the worn out ones I plan to use?

My car is at Charlies now and I'm about to pee my pants!

charlie made me **** myself, and induced some pucker factor. called me, at work, impersonating a warranty voider from Mazda NA, said my vin and tag had been cross referenced, and evidence found about me racing the car, and that my warranty will now be voided. then i figured out it was him. my car will be over there tomorrow, for a coolant flush, and an oil change.

My baby is in the capable hands of Charlie and crew getting fresh redline and coolant. I saw a certain silver colored car there. Rumors about go fast parts...
I heard about the prank Charlie pulled on L8. That was wrong! I would have freaked until I realized what was up. Come to think of it he did something similar to me last year. Watch out for him.
Running in the rain is no concern to me. My very first track day was at Road Atlanta and some of you guys and Girl will recall we had rain the first couple sessions. It was a very good learning experience and no less fun. I do like the idea of being able to keep the window up if it is raining buckets though.
Since Val is being difficult about my suggested 8pm sunday chat time, what other times work for everyone? How is Monday night at 9pm?

Not being difficult, you are being insensitive to us sport fanatics. I know, I know...when it comes to track everything else takes a back seat

BTW, Monday at 9PM is fine... unless I have parts to put on my car.

I meant to say powering out of a turn with a mustang is a much differant technique. I have seen all that torque/hp not being applied to the track in the way the driver really wanted and they spin out. power cars==lighter throttle on exiting----transfer the weight, get the traction then mash it past the floorboard! Our momentium cars and stf's all wheel drive is a much differant driving experience. Man I wish I had an oppitunity to drive one of the Factory 5 cobra cars. I bet that would be unforgetable.
Love the way mustangs sound. As my name implies I grew running the old muscle cars. Mine was big block chevy's.
rotor on

Unhappy

Just wanted to give a heads up...my 5 month old daughter was admitted to the pediatric unit today with a "mystery" illness. She is not doing well at the moment, so it is very likely I may miss the 28th....I hate it, but no car or track could ever replace my little girl.

Keep your fingers crossed she gets better soon, and that I can still come hang out with you guys....

I am going to see if the Hospital has a hotspot so I can log back on with the laptop, but it may be a few days before I can get back on......

Until then, I'm off to the hospital for a few days of sleepless nights on some crappy pullout bed.

-lego, if you happen to read this, I may not be able to do the brakes this weekend....my subie is still at work (dana drove it so it's in the front parking lot)...give me a page tomorrow or Saturday.

I will say a prayer for her tonight. I hope it is nothing serious and she is home again safe and sound before you know it.

Lego, I PM'd WRXBoy my number, PLEASE tell him if he needs to talk, he can call me anytime. I have been there, I know what distress this can cause.

PLEASE tell him to call if needs anything.

On a lighter note, I am going to the dealership tomorrow.
