Yes, you can participate. There are different levels of driving from beginner to advanced or even racing. Some organizations like Darkside DE do not have racing and NASA-SE does have racing but you get to start off as a first timer with an instructor sitting in the seat next to you and in most cases, you will have one of us as your instructor because we have a lot of RX-8's in our group that are advanced and instructors.
We take pride in having new members join us. I can't think of anyone that came out to see what we are all about and didn't keep coming back. You can just come out to an event and watch, join in with the group fun and even catch a ride with one of us on a 20 min. session. This is lots of fun and guaranteed to be a life changing experience!
All you need to drive is a car in good shape, helmet, long pants. Deferent organizations charge different amounts for the day or weekend. Sometimes we rent out TGPR in Alabama and that's really cheep for an informal day of all the track you can stand.
Sometimes we just get together for a meal or a beer and sometimes we might ride go-karts. Events are suggested by the members in a post, then members that choose to participate just join in on the thread and meet up or organize for a driving event. Last Saturday, we met up at the Silver Skillet in Atlanta for breakfast. I was home by 9:30 AM. It's a very casual group and we have been together and growing since 2004.
By the way, I just activated your account over on garx8club.com. Looking forward to you joining in. Ask lots of questions. No flaming over there, don't care if a question has been asked 100 times. You are going to find a great group of guys and one of... if not THE largest group of Track Ho's in the country!
See Ya!

Anyone here from Albany? I'll be relocating there after the holiday and would not mind letting the Rotary family escort throughout the city and surrounding areas. I did a search and found only two members possibly in the area therefore decided to post here.

Find us on the GA RX-8 Club Forum, stop in and say hello. Registration is a slight process, due to the number of spam accounts we get, but we will get you setup.

I just recently bought an Rx8 and I like that I found that there is a GA Rx8 Club. I signed up on the website and am awaiting confirmation. I'm interested in any meets that may be held or any other types of events with other Rx8's.

kride & Greccotron, I just activated your accounts. Come on over and join in the fun. We always have something planned. If you don't see something you want to do, then suggest it and see if anyone is interested.
Welcome aboard!

SnhKnives, sorry for the problem. Enjoyed talking with you on the phone and have activated your account. Welcome to the club and look forward to your input or anything we can do to help your out. Travis, his username on the garx8club is "hwebster". I had him sign in again with a different name.

We have to be very careful about new members because of spam & hacks. As administrators, we may make a mistake and not accept a legitimate new user and I want to personally apologize for that. We have made the acceptance process manual and it is sometimes just not 100% accurate as we have to try to research every single new registered user.
I'd like to suggest, to make it easier for you and us, please just drop me an email, PM or post here letting us know a little about you and your user name so we don't have to do research. L8APEX or I will take care of you ASAP.
My email: d y a u n @ b e l l s o u t h . n e t
Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience.

Every thing's groovy except one thing. When I'm logged into the Army strategic net, I have no problem getting access, while I'm at work. However, when I'm back at the tent, I'm on a personal satellite net that runs through a German DNS sever, and every time I try to browse to Http://garx8club.com I get a friendly little 403 Error "Server configuration does not allow access to this page." Probably a security setting on the part of the hosting server. Not a big deal, I can still get on while I'm at work.
