Just ordered my new set of 18 x 8.5 wheels. Should be here just in time to get the race tires mounted on them Friday morning before leaving. I'm going to have to put one in the trunk, one in the back seats, and one in the front seat to bring them up there. No little trailer yet. We'll see how she does with slicks on. Hope it doesn't rain, but the Kuhmo road tires are pretty sticky too (245-40's) so either way, it's going to be a blast!

See you guys there. Anyone pick a hotel yet?

I stayed at the scottish in on the same road as Road Atlanta. About $42/night with the corporate rate. You just have to show them a badge of where you are working. You can get their info from the road atlanta web site. It was one of the cheaper places I saw around there.

Perelli P Zero Racing Slicks. I got them used (4 heat cycles) from a porche 993 driver. I got them for $50 for all four so I'm not out that much. This way, I can learn to drive on the slicks before spending $$$ on new ones. I figure that I'll more than likely use them a few times and then get another set. But for $50, it's not bad at all. I'll be spending more money mounting them.

Thanks lego. I like that rate! Man if you have ANY water on the track be careful with those tires/slicks. Easy to hydro with slicks. Remember also, you may have more tire than suspension! $50 for the set! You stole them!
Yea waffle house .

I just also got a set of Kuhmo Supra 712's on the stock wheels recently. Really sticky too, but with a little more road noise than the stock Dunlops I had.

They are good wet tires. I'll be using those if it's wet at all. The tires will be here the 8th. Man I hope the wheels make it here on time. I can hardly sleep from the anticipation!

ditto Nabil. Yes stopwatch would be great. Can someone break down the participates of each class? Who is in C? Who is in B? More the merrier.
I hope one C class driver has the RB catback. I would love to hear it winding down the staight. The more I listen to mine the more I turn off the radio AND the more I realize that I prefer this sound to my old beloved big blocks
RRA--- rotories at road atlanta!
only 2 more days to Mazcare.
word home cheese!

Wonder if I should get the brake fix before or after I go???

Just got the racing tires today, I hope the wheels come Thurday so I can get them mounted Friday morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

There is also an autocross on Sunday the 12th for middle GA scca for those of you driving up from Macon or Warner Robbins. I'm going to that the next day too.

Wow! What a wonderful amazing day!!!

Charlie, your hospitality and generosity are second to none! The Mazcare part of these weekends are just as great as the track day itself. Thanks so much again.

I had a wonderful time. I'm glad we were all able to drive home in one peice. The videos will be ripped tonight and I'll send them to Phlash again. I'll have them with a little better compression so they'll be about 150MB's each. I also have a lot of pictures.

Hope to see you all very soon again. Can't wait until the next event.

Gordon,

I'm uploading the session 4 video to you now. This was the most amusing of all so I recorded it first. Hilarious. Listen to my comentary! Pay close attention to the first things I say! This is also the fastest of my laps. I'll go back and do 1 - 3 now. They are on another disc.

It's 120 MBs. I ripped it in 752 kbs. This way it is decent quality. If you want smaller, I should be able to compressed it to lower quality and send a 20 - 30 MB file.

Take care again everyone! I loved it and can't wait for the next event. NASA is March???

I should have known Nabil and legokcen would get posted first....

Nabil, I got stuck behing an entire row of grandma's and grandpa's...took me ten minutes to get out of the shopping center parking lot. But, I found my way out...thanks for hangin' back and trying (although I know it was killing you) to wait up.

What a day!! I will remember a cold, cold, cold day....coming off of turn three way, way to hot for me and/or my car (okay..me) and leaving my mark on the grounds of Road Atlanta at least until they plant new grass in the spring (can't wait to see that video Nabil)......a great group of people.......a wonderful, well run event....and the Porche boxster that entered the track with our group, tearing the front end off his car in the first session(what a start to the day). Despite me four wheeling through the grass between three and four (that was quite a humbling and embarrassing experience), I had a blast !! I am very aware from following lego and charlie through the "coaching" laps they had together, that I have a lot to learn about transition. I am also thrilled to state that I got to share the track with some of the most exotic cars in the world and am proud to say that I was giddy when the Viper, the AMG SL...with the hot Brazilian chick , the Panoz GT, and the 911T blew by me going 115-120 like I was standing still (the 911T driver told us later that they were doing almost 160 going into the brake zone). Damn that was cool!!! What a rush!!

Charlie, THANKS!! Your hospitality and willingness to help, share, and teach are indeed second to none. We were thrilled to have you at the event. As lego stated to us last night at dinner, we look forward to the time at your shop with you and the crew almost as much as the event the next day. I love the sound with this new setup. The track day was a great opportunity to blow it out, break it in, and bronze the tips....:D

Nabil, thanks once again for the extra push to get this all together. Denny, You're a hell of a driver man! Glad the new bars made such a diiference. Kirk, it was great to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again . Pam, so glad you were sick (cough, cough) enough to get away from work and join us. lego, I will get the video and stuff posted soon. Thanks for being our photo man.

hmmmm, the two day NASA event in the spring is calling from a distance......so is the "Mazcare" Little Taladega event........will our SE group hear the call???? oh, yes.......I bet we will.......
