2008 Track Schedule

Here is a preliminary list of track events I am looking at for the 2008 season. I am not sure which I will sign up for as it is going to depend on work and finances. Some are 3 day weekends but I am only listing the Sat/Sun part as I am unlikely to do all 3 days...
I had fun doing TT in 2007 so I think that if I run 5 events, I can fare decently. I wish March wasn't that crowded with good events I want to do...

Jan 6 - Victory Lane Karting endurance race - 2 fast team mates needed
Feb 9/10 - CMP with NASA-SE (Time Trial/HPDE)
Feb 23/24 - Roebling with First Coast BMWCCA
March 8/9 - Road Atlanta with Peachtree BMWCCA
March 15/16 - Road Atlanta with NASA-SE (Time Trial/HPDE)
March 29/30 - Barber with Sunshine Bimmers (aka PBOC)
April 5/6 - CMP with NASA-SE (Time Trial/HPDE)
May 17/18 - Roebling with NASA-SE (Time Trial/HPDE)
June 7/8 - Barber with NASA-SE (Time Trial/HPDE)
July 5/6 - Road Atlanta with Peachtree BMWCCA
July 12/13 - CMP with NASA-SE (Time Trial/HPDE)
Aug 9/10 - Road Atlanta with NASA-SE (Time Trial/HPDE)
Sept 20/21 - Road Atlanta with Peachtree BMWCCA
Oct 4/5 - Barber with NASA-SE (Time Trial/HPDE)

I am currently leaning to do the events in bold. I must find a Road Atlanta or Barber event in April/May!

Very nice.
I might have to dust the car off and join you for a couple.
Have to wait and see what work sched looks like.
March RA, April CMP, May Roebling, June Barber, Aug RA, Oct Barber all look nice.
BTW- May 17 weekend is Roebling, you have it as CMP.

Wow! 3 CMP events is good for me since they are close to home. It must be nice for you guys that live closer to Barber and Road Atlanta. I had a great time at both of those places. I'm really looking forward to the coming year.

I'm going to try and make Road Atl in March with NASA. I'll probably just sign up under HPDE, I may not do TT's at all because of other race car costs.

Hi STF - sounds like a plan! 2008 will be the return of STF to the track and to TT competition.

SPICcnmGT - what do you have going on? If you are building a race car, might as well enter it in TT as well. TT would be good seat time anyway.

, I have 2 cars I am looking into. I can REAL close to a TT prepped Evo, but I DON'T want another car payment. If I can't pay cash, I ain't interested. I did get an awesome lead on a e30 M3, I think that will be my next machine, but I have found another stang too, full griggs work-up, just needs brakes and tuning.

Time will tell.

BUT, I have to go on a diet. I have put on 20 pounds since I haven't been tracking.

I've got an uncle that is helping build, or I guess doing most of the work, his idea. It's a C sports racer, minimum weight is 900lbs with driver, max displacement is 1000cc, we have a ZX-10R motor. Should be super fast, but it'll be at least a year or so before it's done, I may still do TT next year I just need to get a lap timer.

My plans seem to be constantly changing due to work and family. Looks like I will not be doing CMP in February. Roebling in Feb is very iffy as well. I won't do the BMW event at RA in March either.

Jan 6 - Victory Lane Karting endurance race

That is ok, looks like I won't have a car. This time it was my fault though, my bonus got 'messed up' by the new controller, and they won't release the money till after the first of the year. The man has been SO patient, I told him to go ahead and move on, and that I appreciated the consideration. I don't know what I am going to do now.

That's a shame STF. On the other hand the M3 motor is supposedly likely to cost $$$$$$$ if it goes. Big $$$$$$$$. I would recommend an RX8 or E36 M3 but I don't want to compete with you in TT.

Trying to decide between RA and Mosport - May be out there for RA in March - the wife will be in the RX8 and I'll tow the FD out.

Road Atlanta with NASA in March is a huge event. We get a lot of the RX8 Club out to attend. This will be the 4th year for us doing this event.

I'll be there as well. I think I added about 5 pounds of vinyl graphics to the car since I've gotten this cutter.

That is the event i plan to be running in. I will have even more new stuff.
Course i will be slow (seriously) as everything has changed. I have to learn all over. Hope I can get some riders--plan on doing hp3 again in March and starting for instructor status later in the year.
god it is such a long time away.

Yup, Road Atlanta in March. Will be there.
Am guessing there will be a big turnout for this one.

TA - you need to hit one of the later CMP events or the season TTD title might elude you. Play it by ear, but even though it is a long drive, would be interested in going at least once.

I can't believe you guys can resist the first NASA event. Of course it is a short drive for me. Gonna be cold.

Cold, and it is a fair drive. Would like to get back on track in Jan or Feb, it is just harder to work out. Nothing is ever ruled out though.
Hope you had a merry Christmas. Gonna be a fun season.
