WTB: RX8 Manual ($9K)

WTB: RX8 Manual ($9K)
I am looking to buy a manual RX-8. I have about $9K to spend. Vehicle specifics that I'd like:
I know that's a pretty slim chance, seeing as most of the ones around here seem to be going for about 11K, but I thought I'd try.
I am willing to travel a few hundred miles for this. That covers WI, MN, IA, IL, IN, and MI. Maybe some ventures into the Dakotas or other distant points for the right car.
Any questions or offers to sell, let me know!
- Around $9,000
- Manual
- Must have less then 70K miles
- Must have Dynamic Stability Control. I live in WI. It snows here. A lot.
- Color choices, in order, are: Black, Blue, Grey, Silver, Red, Yellow.
- In good running and cosmetic order. Maintenance records are a plus! I know its a 5 year old car, so some scratches, dents are understandable, but a missing bumper is not.

dont know if you're still lookin, but I've got one for sale. out of your 6 criteria that you have as preferences, I qualify for 5 of them: (1) manual; (2) 60k miles; (3) DSC; (4) two-toned blk/gray; (5) maintenence has been a top priority...it even has the extended warranty through 100k miles. The price of $9k...well, no. To see the pics/details/upgrades/info on my car just click the link in my sig! And let me know cuz I'm lookin to sell ASAP!

Sweet ride, and tastefully upgraded. Sadly, I won't be able to buy it for two reasons: one as its way outside my price range, and two, I just bought this:
2004 RX-8 Grand Touring, 54,000 miles, $9200. Pretty much my last choice of color, but the price is right. And I can always paint it later.

Inside things look good! There is the usual dings on the center tunnel trim in the back, but every car I looked at had those. Leather is tear free, audio system sounds good, all the buttons work, AC blows cold, heater blows hot.
Mechanically everything looks pretty good. Little corrosion, no leaks, smooth shifting and the clutch feels fine to me. A warn belt needs to be replaced (the one that drives the alternator), but again, that's $15 and an hour of my time.
It will need new tires come fall. The wheels have the "aluminum touching iron" corrosion problem, a bit, but its nothing to get in a twist over. The faces of the wheels still look pretty good. No vibrations from bent rims or the like.
And damn, revving that sucker to 9000 was fun.
$9200 is a good deal, I just hope there isn't something lurking, waiting to explode. I should be able to get it Saturday.

Sounds like a great deal. I live in NY so the drive wouldn't have been too accommodating for me... The price looked great though! Congrats again!
You probably saw the ding on the drivers side, low down near the front of the door. That is a dent on two panels, the front fender and front door, with a silver dollar sized chip in the paint that's down to metal. But, its a weekend of careful hammering and a $15 can of paint to fix. There are a couple of other smaller scratches and chips that go to primer, but nothing huge.

There is an annoying delay with the check clearing. It's cleared my bank, but its not applied to the dealer's account yet. I was hoping to get it today, seeing as its a 2 hour drive down to where they are at, but it looks like it will be Monday or Wednesday before I can pick it up. Grrr, I wanted the weekend to go corner carving.
