What if paint loses its shine?

hey guys,
no way around this cause this is my daily.

BUT i look at other cars on the road and notice how dull the paint is. u can't see nothing but dull reflections on their paints, as if they were painted with flat colors!

Right now my RX is very clean, the reflections are almost a mirror, but thats cause its new. My question is if i wanted to keep my paint shiny and new for a long time, should I wax it every other week? I go out o town sometimes and use a car cover, but other than that it sees rain and sun (no snow in houston) constantly. I want to keep the mirror like finish.

thanks guys!

I use a clay Bar, and Meguier's products. Clear bra also helps with chips and bug marks.

If you wax or Zanio it too much like Jedi you'll take off the paint and it will be flat in a couple of years.

Clay bars still leave NCBs, so I like to follow that with a mark-IV equipment detox kit. Make sure you're in MOPP4.

I'm telling ya! Be like Mythbusters and use chocolate as a polisher, you'll be able to set stuff on fire like when the polished the bottom part of the soda can.

ZAINO IT - and it will look new, actually BETTER than new for a long time and NO, Zaino will not remove the paint as it has no abrasives in it . ( I don't have stock in Zaino)

You must be seeing a lot of dirty or dusty cars lately. That'll make anything look dull, otherwise even with only regular washes your clearcoat is not going to fade that fast.

Just go to a paint shop, and have them add about 5 more coats of clear coat, lol

get your car detailed once a year or every 6 months.

wash, clay, polish, wax.

polish is the key to restoring a shine when things go bad.

Polish can really help restore that original shine.

It also removes the clear coat.

Too much polishing will expose the survace to bare paint.

Then fade will happen and the dark side will win.
