Waxing and clear coats

I bought my 8 back in September of 03. Maybe a week after having it put one layer of Mother's Gold carnuaba wax on it by hand (I did not use a machine, I applied and then manually buffed in) 9 months later I have just waxed it again the same way.
Someone mentioned to be that waxing a brand new car too early can remove the clear coat. Any truth to this? I have always followed my father's lead who waxes his new cars with Mother's Gold wax immedietly.

Thanks

Old wives' tale. The paint is cured when it's baked at the factory. You're doing the right thing.

Feel much better. Thanks guys. I'm now debating doing a Zaino marathon on my car. Sure looks good, but 6-7 hours to do it? Geez.

Meguiars has treated me very well. I also liked Zymol. Both will do you no wrong if the Zaino insano solution ain't for ya.
