Waxing

Bout to do my first wax and I am thinking of getting the Meguires NXT. My question is do I need to get any addition wax products. Or can I just use the NXT

Also is it necessary to put more than one coat of wax on the car. I have seen people using 2 coats of a spray wax, than a couple of coats of another wax, plus a couple of coats of totally different wax. Is this the proper way to wax a car?

Finally should I always wash with Dawn before waxing the car?

I have no experience at all with waxes. All I can tell you is how I did it -it was my first time too: I washed the car and then applied 2 coats of spray wax.
I don't know about NXT (hell, don't even know if its imported in my country...). I used Sonax Hard wax, german product, I think it does the job! Number of coats depends on how much protection you want.
What I am asking is: are windows and windshield supposed to be waxed too? Maybe an expert can tell us more...
