You can get a shine like that with most high-end polishes. You don't need 6 hours. Claybar,Cleaner (like Klasse AIO),then Polymer wax. Zaino is ok but there are at least 5-6 other types out there that perform as well and longer.

Obviously someone hasn't done their research.

Zaino is great and i'm glad that i'm not the only one that spends so much time on my car check out the link to my zaino pics, and it was only one coat. I wonder how it would look if I did a few more. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/first-time-zaino-my-yellow8-61272/

On the contrary, you obviously haven't done yours. I am confident that I know more about what goes into detailing an automobile than the majority out there and that includes yourself. Do you do it for a living? I doubt it. Zaino has a great shine but for the price as well as the time spent, there are plenty of other alternatives like Poor Boy's and Klasse and quite a few other products that give as well as a shine if not better with protection that meets or beats it.

Fanboys are alive and well...

Roll your eyes all you want. The proof has been debated more times than needed. Time? Yes the first time is lengthy, after that it will take you no longer than any other polish. As for pricey... maybe it is a tad more. But that tad more gives what no one else can. Shine, depth, light refraction, durability, longevity, and reflection are un-beatable.

We can argue this all you want. Yes, there are others that can come close, but the key word there is... close.

Your whole content is purely subjective as far as shine goes and Zaino in general. There are countless professional detailers that know of many combinations that give the same shine and better. Where is your proof? Where is your data that says Zaino is superior? I could put Zaino on my 8 and post pics and get oohs and aaahs. I could also post pics with Klasse AIO and Poor Boy's and get the same thing.

I'm sorry to say but your post still reeks of "fanboy". I'm glad you like Zaino but don't give false indications that it is superior with proof. If you said "I think its the best" then great, but otherwise put your proof where your post is. I would hate to see people here overspend their hard-earned cash on some product that is based on comments such as yours and your "proof". The guy who put Zaino on his car made his car look nice. I simply stated that there is a way to get the same shine and better by using other products.

The Baller is the king of shine, and Rowdy is correct, Zaino is nothing more than great marketing. There are better (much better products for shine) than Sal Zaino's creation.

Thumbs up to superfan, your 8 looks great.

If I had 6 hours of free time I sure would not waste my time with Zaino, it would be in a casino chasing blondes.

So let's say a newb is looking for a better than Zaino shine in less than 6 hours...what products should I be purchasing and what techniques should I be using?

I agree that Zaino is not the end all be all of polish.

I personally use Poorboys line of products finished with a coat of meguairs NXT and the shine is just as good in 3 hours.

I think the deal breaker is my Porter Cable random orbit polisher though.

You guys are silly.

5 coats of any wax with intital cleansing is going to take any combination of polishes/waxes/cleaners a good 6 hours. That pretty normal.

Zaino is touted to be the longest lasting shine available. It indeed has been proven that there are waxes that are shinier than zaino, klasse, NXT, zymol also, and probably a few others. They are simply shinier.

But what makes zaino stand out from the rest, is the fact that one month down the line, two months, three months, through rain, dust, and road junk, it will remain the same shinyness as that day that you decided to spend 6 hours on it. That is where zaino clearly and undisputably rules. No ifs, ands or buts.

What zaino owners try and get by spending hours on end, is a shine to rival or best these waxes. But the thing that remains, is zainos unbeatable protection.

I've used meguires carnuba, meguires NXT, turtle wax, and finally zaino. And zaino does outlast them all. I could actually see the others' shine fading in as little as 5 days, rainstorm come? That shine was toast. But not zaino.

Those are just the facts.

The big visible difference is Zaino is NOT a wax and waxes yellow over time, usually after about a month. The other thing is Waxes simply CANNOT last as long. So Zaino will (by design it has to) look better over time and last longer. Isn't that what we are all really looking for?

PLUS - Zaino looks better with each additional layer, layering wax only results in a duller looking finish over time as each layer starts to yellow.

In 30 years of detailing my own cars, I have not found any product that comes close for ease of application, shine, durability and cost-over-time than Zaino. If there was a better product I would be using it, cause as I get older, I find myself not having the time or wanting to spend the time every month stripping and waxing my car.

Zaino allows me to go six months or more easily without having to apply additional coats. Show me a product that does all that, does not require me to use a Cable Porter, does not wear-out my arms, can be applied in a wide range of temperature/climates, does not leave white residue on black trim, smells great,
is really inexpensive when you consider how little is used per application and can be ordered via the internet and at my door in 3 or 4 days.

Damn Baller, I was gonna put a disclosure on the end of my above mentioned writup that excluded you - LOL

For the record I am NOT Sal Zaino and I am in no way connected to/with Zaino, I do not get any revenue from Zaino or from mentioning it. I just think when a product works, and works this good, other people should be informed.

With that said, It is well known (on this board) that Baller does not like Zaino products. although the reason is a little foggy as to why. With the exception of perhaps a handful, almost everyone who tries Zaino usually agrees it is great.

I personally have no experience with it on darker colors, all my cars are/have been Silver (perhaps because Zaino works wonders on Silver).

I respect Baller's opinion of Zaino, but I don't understand the why.

I am sure it (Zaino) is great stuff, your RX-8 looks great.
I also love silver cars, so we both agree that silver 8's look great.
I would bet that you would like the shine Zaino gave my Honda lawnmower, it really sparkles. I also use it on my bowling *****.
I love your post man, but it is fun to mess with Zaino.
I want to party with you cowboy!!!!
If I buy you some Zymol Concours would you try it?

Step up to Concours and have someone else do it while you spend quality time with Johnnie Walker. In a couple of hours you will notice how nice everything looks.

Does the whole Zaino process help eliminate minor surface scratches? Similar to what Scratch-X does.
