I'm thinking about painting my calipers carolina blue (country blue), but I can't find that color or anything close online or in local stores. I also want to stencil a black rx-8 logo on from polak. Does anybody know where I can find this color in high-temp paint. If I can't find that color in high-temp paint, does anybody know if using the normal paint and then putting a few coats of high-temp clear coat over it would be effective?

Thanks

I found that caliper paint is quite limited in color kind of blue, red, yellow, silver making up the majority.

All that 900 degree F is bullshit all you need is 500 and barely that. The only time your calipers come close to anything above 300 F is when you take the car auto-xing otherwise calipers are safe to the touch as soon as you get out the door of the car.
(If your going to try this touch the caliper not the rotor, don't be dumb)

Anyway back to color there is many more choices for 500 degree F safe paints. Check out Plasti-Color's/ Dupli-Colors High Temp Engine paint. That will suit the calipers just fine. Most Pep-Boys have both.

What color is your car? Mine is Sunlight Silver and I'm thinking of doing the calipers in an electric smurf blue if I can find the right color. Speaking of photoshop requests . . .

Mine is sunlight silver also, and I think a bright/matalic blue would look wonderful and original. The plastikote and duplicolor Polak mentioned have pontiac blue, pontiac metallic blue, and chrysler blue, all of which I'm considering. I tried photo editing all three of those colors along with other blue colors but none of them turned out well. According to the local weather forecast there's going to be precipitaction (rain or snow) for the next two days with fair weather afterwards. I'm going to try to do mine sometime between thursday and saturday, so I'll post some pics if I like the outcome. With photoshop all of the colors came out too dull so I'm hoping the colors will be better in person.

I think the gold/bronze would look good. It was suggested to me owning a winning blue to get gold. I got the high temp gold and it was really bright (tacky looking) but then someone else on here suggested that I use another product on the paint which turned it into a fantastic bronzy gold. I think that would look good on just about any color of RX-8 except for maybe silver where red would look more attractive.

I painted my calipers and rotors blue this past week. If anyone would like to see them just say so and I'll post them. My 8 is silver by the way.
