Daily Cleaning...

Question for you show and shine gurus out there... Is it a good idea to run a damp cotton towel over your car every day to keep the dust/bird crap/ and bugs off our cars? Would the wet cotton towel scratch the surface?

I wipe my car down almost daily. No scratches. The key is to inspect the towel carefully to make sure there's no stuff stuck to it. I use microfiber towels, and they have a tendency to hold stuff too well, e.g., dried grass after washing and drying. The 8 is so small that I can use one 12 x 12 micro fiber for the whole car. Well actually 2 towels, one wet, one dry. I do the wheels next to last and the exhaust last.
