I know Zaino looks better on dark colors, but us Yellow's do pretty well, too.

Baller 04-17-2004 04:54 PM

No offense, but Zaino is not the best.
Just go to the Pebble Beach concours (I have) and ask Jay Leno or any person that really knows..........

Speed-ER doc 04-17-2004 06:19 PM

So what did Jay say was the best? Or your own opinion, if different?

Baller 04-17-2004 10:37 PM

Jay said (he really did) Vintage™
Vintage Glaze is based on a custom formula developed for the 1947 Bentley Mark VI Cabriolet by Franay, winner of several "Best of Shows" in its debut year on the Concours circuit. Among the protective ingredients in Vintage are evergreen, honeydew, coconut, cantaloupe and sunflower oils. Vintage contains 61 percent Brazilian No. 1 White Carnauba by volume, the highest in any product designed to protect automotive finishes. Note: This container is refillable for life at no charge.

Contains White Carnauba Sap/Wax, Montan Evergreen Oil, Sunflower Oil, Cantaloupe Oil, Coconut Oil, Honeydew Extract, Propolis (derived from Bees), Cetyl Esters, Cetyl Cocoamide (derived from coconut oil).

$2000 for the cut crystal container.
They also have a wax for around $300 that the Baller uses.

Baller 04-17-2004 10:40 PM

This what the Baller uses...Concours
Concours Glaze was originally designed by and for the founders of Zymöl for their personal cars. Now it is available to everyone who demands a "show-car" gloss and depth of shine. Concours contains 47 percent Brazilian NO. 1 White and Yellow Carnauba by voluje (90% White, 10% Yellow).

Contains White and Yellow Carnauba Wax, 47% by volume (90% White, 10% Yellow), Montan Oil, Coconut Oil, Banana Oil, Cinnamon Oil, Propolis (derived from Bees), Cetyl Esters, Cetyl Cocoamide (derived from coconut oil) and FD&C Yellow #5.

How about posting some pictures of the finish so that we can see the difference between this product and Zaino. This is not a challenge, so please don’t flame me! Jay Leno’s opinion aside, I really want to use the best product for my new car and would like to see a quantifiable difference or a pros/cons list.

Silver

JimW 04-29-2004 12:15 PM

"Boy", sto16: Great picture! Cutting down on the light really brings out the reflection, very perceptive.

thew 05-04-2004 02:47 AM

where do you get it ?

JimW 05-07-2004 03:22 PM

If you mean Zaino wax you can order it here! www.zainobros.com

73JPS 05-14-2004 12:49 AM

Not the greatest pic, but... if you look at the reflection of the sky in the driver's side window compared to just below it on the top of the driver's side door, the image as reflected by the body isn't much different than the image reflected by the glass... :D

Love that Zaino: it is easy to apply, and gives a great lasting shine.

Nice, and when you're done waxing the car, you can eat some as a snack.

I just don't see how all that stuff would out last the Zaino applications, as they seem to last for a very long time.

SilverBullitt 05-20-2004 07:49 AM

Zaino the BEST!

MEGAREDS 05-23-2004 08:40 PM

I don't know if Zaino is "the Best" or not, but it is unbelievably good stuff. There is a color that comes out of the Titanium Gray that I've only seen after a Zaino application. It looks "wet," but has a different quality too that I can't describe well and which doesn't come out in photos.

MEGAREDS 05-23-2004 08:41 PM

Here's another...

rudy8 06-09-2004 08:44 PM

I have to show off the car's new strakes with the Zaino shine. The strakes made a big difference to me, many of my friends and neighbors thought so as wellhttp:// picture 027

JimW 06-23-2004 03:25 PM

Nice pictures Jason. I see you have the clear sidemarkers. It makes a big difference and I'm ditching the orange in favor of the clears ASAP!

Silver04RX8 07-01-2004 05:37 PM

Well I agree that Zaino may not be the best, I would expect for $2000 that the stuff Jay Leno uses better be some awesome stuff, however for the price and the fact that I do not have the bank account Jay does I am very happy with Zaino, after 3 coats my Silver 8 never looked so good, as for me I will keep using Zaino.

Leno uses Zymol "concours" on most of his cars, I think it retails for $175 but you can buy it for around $120 if you shop around.
I don't think it is that expensive at all, considering the shine.

Sal Zaino is a good salesman

:) :)

Silver04RX8 07-01-2004 10:10 PM

Zaino sales itself, and my mistake about Jay still $120 is more than I wanted to pay and all I get for that is the concours product itself, for $89 including shipping I got this

Baller 07-01-2004 11:35 PM

Your car looks great!

Silver04RX8 07-02-2004 09:07 PM

Thanks Baller, I spent about 6 hours doing the whole wash with dawn, clay bar the entire car, wash the car with the zaino wash, then putting on all of the coats of polish and in between each polish putting on the Z-6 to help it all bond together, then doing all the tires and plastics and then putting glass polish on the windows after I was done I was hesitant to start driving it again.

loco4rx8 07-07-2004 11:03 AM

Well, I don't know if this pic is worthy of this thread, but I'm gonna post it anyway. :p This is after 2 layers of Z5 yesterday, followed by 2 layers of Z2 this morning.

Silver04RX8 07-07-2004 03:12 PM

It looks great Loco
