Yes, but the red is RED! And those gold mica flakes...oh, wow...I wasn't quite brave enough to get red- I know I'd be covered in speeding tickets before the end of the first month.

nice job on zaino-ing the 8. i was a little hesitant in doing it to my car, since the Meguiar's 3-step process did the job and the amount of time it took. now, seeing your car, i am going to have get me some zaino.

Elara, which Zaino did you use?

thanks

Very nice, Elara!

But if three people did the job, do you have to let the other two drive, too? :D

Washed with blue Dawn, then claybared it, then the Z7 wash, Z5 with the ZFX (2 coats), and Z6 gloss enhancer. I probably didn't need to Dawn, but I was being paranoid and following every direction down to the letter.

the_doug - I did have to let them drive it, but one was my husband, who was already driving it some, and the other guy is a good friend that I promised a drive to a long time ago - it was also the only way I could bribe him to help! However, they are the only other people who are allowed to even TOUCH it.

Wow Elara. Zaino just brings those dark colors to life! Damn! I wish my titty gray showed that much improvement after Zaino. Although the enhanced gloss doesnt seem that aparent in the garage but when it goes out it's IS nice and gleaming.

Although If I had known all about Zaino before I ordered the car I might have stuck with that black car.

Although Zaino certainly improved the feel of the pain a LOT, and made washes a whole lot easier :D

I did a update Zaino coat the other day (Z7 wash, then Z2 and finally Z6) and took me about 2 hours for everything. Not too bad I thought. The most time consuming part for me is drying the car with this florida humidity.

Elara,
Great before and after shots, it really shows what Zaino can do. It is not nearly that dramatic on my Velocity Red.

Hi Elara - I don't know if you're still reading this thread, but if you are, how is the Zaino holding up on your green?

Mine just came in Wednesday!!! I already have almost 800 miles, due to a talk I had to give in the far corner of the state. But now I'm thinking of the Zaino route...

FYI, Zaino will last longer than anything you have ever used. It is easier to tell on the darker colors (such as your green), but is even noticeable on my light color (Yellow). I have not applied Zaino to my wifes Volvo in 6 months, and this picture was taken yesterday morning.

I was going to put another coat, but the towel still slides off the hood with no effort.

tpryor, nice jack. You must work on your cars quite a bit, eh?

Not really. I do all of my own maintenance, as I have NO faith in dealers. I also autocross, and change tires a LOT, so a good jack is necessary.

This one came from Harbor Freight (there is a store a mile from my house) - we went to buy the smaller one ($199), called to verify it was in stock (they said it was), and when we arrived, they didn't have one!

I said that we had just called, and he said "would you take the blue one ($299) for the same price"? Duhhh, OK.

So, we have a cool jack! Also had a coupon for 15% off, which they honored. Who am I to argue......?

I got my zaino last thrusday. I didn't have the 8 at home today but did the bug. Holy @#$ that stuff is shiny! I didn't take too long. I used the clay bar then washed again and then the 2 and the 5 followed by the 6 spray. It looks like new. It's original paint too. I'm looking forward to getting it on the 8. My buddy was here waxing his Torch Red Vette with Maguires and will be buying the zaino soon. It's like nothing I've ever used before. Even the Mothers system didn't shine like this. It's definitely worth the investment. Definitely!

I had been thinking about getting zaino a bit but it has been locked in after seeing these pictures. I will have to frequent this section more often now.

The water is still beading on the car, and all I have to do is wash it and it looks great. I intend on zainoing it once more before the winter sets in, and it should be good to go.

Ok, not to be a nay-sayer here ('cause I'm NOT)... but I have to point out that in the before and after pics, I can't help but notice that the car was in significantly different locations. The first one had nothing above the car to reflect, while the second (after) pic had lots of trees. I think this skews the results a bit. Just had to throw that out.

Still though, I *am* impressed with Zaino from what I can tell. Is it possible the forum here could get a "group buy" on the stuff, and offer it to it's members at a discount?

I did the Zanio thing for the 1st time two weeks ago. Followed all the steps. My Green 8 looks great! For 10 years I used carnuba but no more. Really happy with the results. I only did 1 layer along with the gloss spray. Does anyone have advice on the accelerator product to allow multiple layers without 12 hrs. delay?
I'll post pictures when I have time to do justice to the shine.

The ZFX is a must - I ALWAYS do two layers at a time (that will be twice then I suppose as I only have 4 coats total) as it only takes an extra 30 mins to add that second layer once you've already got everything else done.

BTW months after my last Zaino session, after torrential rains and driving through 'flooded' roads up to the bumpers and parking the car outside (garage was repainted) whilst they are building a house next door (grading the lot - very dusty) the car looked as if it had been through a rally. Fifteen minutes with a hose, Z7 and a towel and it was as good as when I applied my last Zaino layer (i.e. better than new). Drying is a 'breeze' too as I have a Toro leaf blower - har har.

'...Better than new' - YES! A Zainoed car actually looks better after a wash with Zaino wash.

It might seem like it, but really, it didn't skew it that much. The car didn't reflect much of anything before I zainoed it. And now, even when it's filthy, it's really shiny and reflective. I'm not at home right now, or I'd post even better pictures.

Hey fellow GREEN owners,
I finally went for a Toro leaf blower to dry my 8. This was the best 36 bucks I ever spent on my car!
After Zanio two weeks ago, washing was a snap. Zanio water beeding was fantastic and the blower made the job easier than I could ever have imagined. The whole wash/dry job only took 1 hour.
Drying with the blower solved all the problems with the grill and brake vents which weeped water forever after previous washings.

Zaino'ed mine last weekend. Two coats of Z2 ZFX then Z6. Got a personal demo since Zaino Bros. is quite local here.

Powerful Stuff!
